It will really mean Leicester fans on all sides as you just know like many other clubs that they will have a large number in the Popside, singing and waving back to their friends who will not only be in the away areas but all around! Might not bother myself thinking about it as it just winds me up with all the P..s taking from the away fans and it does feel like they can do as they please! COYB 👍🏻

I don't know why we didn't just give Leicester a section of pop side. That would have keep most people happy and we get to keep the Don Amot. We need to keep behind the goal to create any sort of atmosphere from our own support. It has been said on here that regulars who stand behind the goal would not entertain standing on the pop side. Bit of an own goal from Ben this one.

The mother in law stands behind the goal and don't think they'll be moving to the popside! We stand at the location I mentioned in the Popside, but if it means squeezing up slightly to get the club some extra cash then why not?

I think a divide on the Popside has practical issues. One set of turnstiles, only one rear exit stairway, the need for some physical barriers behind the stand and on the terracing.
25% is enough of an allocation for away fans.
Don't need to give them more.

A lot of fans not paying what they call a lot of money,to watch some top players,at top clubs, their choice.talking what happened years ago-yes i remember, non league. people say we lost fans because of relegation, [ wake up from the CHAMPIONSHIp]. fans have since time began had to choose games because of finances and commitments in their life, after Fleetwood we have 3 home games in a week, and then a mouth watering clash at Doncaster, so games to watch come thick and fast,so is a expensive period. Facing Leicester, surly is a bridge to far,But is still a big game for the club.revenue wise, and deserves a good attendance,Like many ,away fans behind both goals, sounds, bad, But the reason behind it must be sound, splitting the pop side, putting fans at both ends like Wembley for me, But if the club feel this is the only way at short notice, then it is the Don Amott stand. and fans always have a choice is it a game they fancy or not. Burton public not attending games at the Pirelli is nothing new. its a choice. perhaps Wimbledon is more tempting a half full stadium and away fans= oh they must be some where. So during a season there is something for every one. The choice is simple watch the game or not, And be grateful some away fan will give money to the club in your absence, you dont have to watch Burton Albion it is a choice, and on that note, i will now fetch my Fleetwood ticket through choice

I completely agree that we need to maximise revenue and that means Don Amott may go to Leicester fans.
My only gripe is that the club should have communicated to supporters who are usually in the Don Amott as to whether there would be an opportunity to transfer with Popside tickets.
All a bit of a guessing game at the mo. Do I buy my 3 tickets in the Popside?

There will be many thinking the same, do I buy my ticket yet? If the club made the decision to sell tickets for Don Amott stand now to home fans we may see a sudden rush to buy them, who knows, but that option isn't available.
I've read on another social media platform (you guess which) that some regulars who stand behind the goal don't want to mix with the popsiders , well that can and I know works both ways, are they a different fan who stand there??

As someone who has stood behind the goal supporting Burton for 43 years the thought of yet again being forced to move to the popside is somewhat upsetting. I can accept that in the early rounds of this cup it made sense to shut the Don Amott stand. You get used to having the same people around you and the banter but when moved everyone gets split up and the atmosphere is not the same. I haven't purchased my tickets yet but will in the next couple of days in the hope that we are allowed to transfer if the number of home fans increase. The thing that concerns me is what will happen to future league and cup games. Will clubs with much larger followings automatically be given the Don Amott stand. I don't want this to set an easy precedent for the club to follow in the future. By the way has anyone considered giving the popside to the away fans for a change and giving us both ends!

I've asked on Twitter a couple of times and I recall Colston saying he couldn't get a response. We have a wonderfully run club but their comms really does fall short sometimes.

^^^ Silence is golden as the Tremeloes sang (yes I'm old) I'm guessing by staying quiet those extra tickets are marked to be delivered to the King Power stadium shortly.

In a time when they want more fans to attend they've achieved the exact opposite doing this and angered a large portion. Like some above have said, this passive-aggressive approach needs to stop.
Of course this doesn't affect the main stand, how about Ben & the boys swap to the popside and give Leicester all the seats... no?

I wouldn't call almost begging fans to come out as passive aggressive. I'd consider it almost desperation.l from Ben and to be fair I'd there is one chairman in the football league who has earned the right to have a little dig it's Ben.
He's made a very public "please come" to Burton fans abd it looks like they've responded by telling him to "do one"
People suggesting he'd prefer to give the tickets to Leicester fans need to have a word with themselves.
I honestly wonder if ANY other club outside of the prem and champ would have any difficulty at all selling out their home ends for such a glamour cup tie.
I'm in a bad mood and angry today but I'm always honest so here goes.
THIS is the ONLY reason I'd ever want Nigel to leave. We ARE a tin pot non league club at heart, our fans aee non league fans and yet are still happy to dish out stick to the club for not giving discounts, scarves, coffee and a massage with every match day ticket.
Misfits, the fans and the club don't belong at this level.
I should probably avoid this thread as I'm going to argue with someone and we haven't had a board bust up for months.
The fact we can't sell our own tickets is nothing short of heartbreaking.
Poor Ben must be gutted. passive aggressive? No, he just knows what it costs to rub our club and is open enough to admit he needs people through the turnstiles.
The fact it's THEM and not US who takes the demand is horrible to see.

^^^ I very rarely question what our chairman or manager does within the club but this time I do think he's got it wrong. Selling over our ground to away fans is simply not on, end of.

Sorry broomo, but the point is in my very humble opinion is that this is not pissing off the people who we can't get through the door regularly, but those who DO come every week. That is the point! I do think the come or we will sell it to the others is passive aggressive, especially when the option to come in the usual place IS NOT AVAILABLE. I have tried in the past to channel things the right way, I went on the SLG to do so (scrapped). As said elsewhere this is a brilliant club, fantastically run, but it does not make some of the decisions right. I took picture on picture of the queues af the Popside tea bar, the reason? Because those making decisions never got round there to see it themselves. It was tongue in cheek when I suggested the main stand instead be given over to Leicester fans but, it is a point. That would never be considered, yet season ticket holders (the same as main standers) are being turfed out of their places. The Coventry situation was farcical, the mesh in the main stand had Cov fans both sides of it. Is that normal? In the end I don't think it will happen. A tweet today suggested only 180 popside tickets left. Hopefully sense will prevail.

Fair enough Ian.
I'm looking very much at things as an outsider these days. I didn't see the Coventry mess as I've not been to a game all season and that's not changing any time soon either.
I'm not saying Ben has made the right call. I'm saying I understand why he's made it.
When fans like you and Benny and others on this thread are feeling put out of joint then maybe I've misjudged it.
I won't comment again on the subject.
I hope everyone who can go and who wants to go gets a ticket in their chosen section.
I do think Ben's *plea" has backfired but he had to try something.

We are not far away in terms of our views, we never are. I get intensely what Ben has been saying for the last few years. But if I feel he is having a go at me for other people not coming then it irks me. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your news this coming week.

If next week doesnt result in what I hope then the book project is finally dead. I wanted to do some good and raise some money for kids, but the blocks, obstacles and effect it's had on other parts of my life has nearly broken me. It's not so much "new" news but the reputation of the person now on board that I'm hoping changes things. Thanks as always for your comments, support and friendship.
