Just as last season the long haul to Fratton Park on a Tuesday night.....Pompey will be desperate to win this I'm sure, as having played only 5 games, they're sitting in 18th place (won 1, drawn 2, lost 2, points 5) Harness to score? Maybe...but if we play like yesterday there's no reason why we can't come back with all the points...
......ooops!.....just seen Jamoboy's post on the match referee......wish I hadn't....

Portsmouth midweek is a long way to go,so thanks to ifollow i can watch the game and 80% goes to the club, So we move on to Fratton Park . Portsmouth have had a fractured start only played 5 games W 1=L 2=D 2 -points 5. Again one of the promotion favourites. After a slow start the fans will be etchy and could soon become frustrated, sitting 18th in league 1, This game is a must win, manager Kenny Jackett has been with the squad all week on the training ground, and is under pressure to win against one of the better teams in league 1. The players will be well prepared and raring to go. McCrory=Pitman ones to watch with 3 internationals ,and another club boasting x Brewers=Naylor= Harness, The atmosphere will be white hot with something like a 18-000 fans expecting a WIN. Burton coming after a hard fought draw against Coventry on sat, and Portsmouth well rested. Every thing is set up for a Portsmouth win. A good side, a hostile stadium. well rested, a poor referee, all major decisions will be to favour the home team, How can a man who gets it so wrong be in charge. I suppose a little backwater like Burton, does not get much media attention.Would like to see media response if he officiated a big club and made his bloomers even the match preview gives him a bad report on his game at the Plrelli. So its a loss from me

Harness out for a couple of weeks with a thigh strain so will be missing tomorrow night.
Can see Boyce missing out for us after feeling his hamstring again on Saturday but with others pushing for a start and his up and down form I don't think that is too much of a worry at this stage. Give him a rest and start Lucas or Broadhead down the middle for me.

I've watched their highlights and I watched the full game v Sunderland where I'd say they were workmanlike at best. I spent most of my time either cheering for Harness or by screaming we'd smash both of these. Looks like Tom may be playing centre half which I'll be pleased with. Him and Burgess are solid but they seem prone to conceding from far post crosses. It's strange to say this, Pompey have quality all over the pitch but I thunk the way both sides are playing now, we can beat them. They looked sharp against Everton u21's but it's difficult to judge whether that was Portsmouth back in full flow or just up against kids. Having Tom at the back takes away some of his game and he doesn't look as sharp or as sure as he did for them last season. Wouldn't be surprised to see Jackett give a debut to young Ellis Fairhead upfront, he's been on the bench in the league but got 4 in 2 in starts in their Cup games, looks sharp, he's strong and good in the air as well. Whether he starts or not, they have got quality up front and in and around the box in Pittman and John Marquis. I'm actually quite pleased Hawkins is out as his was probably one of the best target man displays I saw last season. We know all about Marcus, he's started REALLY well, looks settled and has 3 goals and a couple of assists in all comps for them so far, his runs and his little lay offs will cause us problems and he already is a key threat for them, they look to get him the ball. He's been pushed forward a bit further and spends a lot of his time centrally rather that out wide. I hope HE plays well but comes off the pitch with nowt. While I think our high pressing style could pick them off on the counter, I'll be thrilled with a clean sheet a 0-0 and our unbeaten run moving on to 7 games. Clean sheets are and always will be a key driver in teams going up, I think promoted teams usually end up with 18 or so. We're in good shape, only Ipswich conceding less than us in the league so far and soon we're going to start taking some of the chances we create. Someone is going to be on the end of a 5 or 6, it won't be Portsmouth though even though I think we're playing them at a good time. Lose against us and I fancy Kenny will be under pressure from some of their dafter fans. Pompey 0 Brewers 1. Have a good feeling about this game. We play better against the top teams. Settle for a point but feel an Oxford away performance coming up here. Can't see more than 150-200 going.

Always look forward to going to this ground, if we get at them from the start it can make for a great atmosphere.

Broadhead and Sbarra in for Boyce and Fraser. That's two big losses right there, especially Fraser; Big opportunity for Joe. I'd snap your fingers off for a 0-0 right now.

Can't be getting 2 yellows in 5 minutes. Poor discipline, assuming they were actual yellow card offences and not b*locks.
Would be really frustrating throwing away a 2-0 lead.

We’ve no chance of hanging on to this?? Such a shame after a brilliant opening.
We’re offering nothing going forward. It’s one way traffic. We’ve got to get Sarkic and Broadhead more involved.
O’Toole had to go; I think he was left exposed by indecision alongside him. We’re looking makeshift at the back.
COYB!
