Some of the football tonight was sublime, nay sumptious. And I am having none of 'it was only Morecambe'. They are a hard working, good club. This evening, we were too good. Yes. We dominated. Being a league above we would be expected to. I give full credit and thanks to morecambe for their approach to the game. They played football. No route one hoof ball as commonly seen in L2 . Still a good club. Congrats to Liam.

I am at best luke warm to this competition, so nearly did not go to the game. What a mistake that would have been. A superb game to watch, on a lovely evening, against Morecambe, who certainly tried to play football in the right way to challenge us. This contributed to an entertaining evening at the Pirelli.

Great win for the lads and a confidence booster before the league match on Saturday.
Everybody has different views on cup competitions these days but for me I just love seeing us win matches and make progress in any competition we take part in. As I have said before when I first started following the Brewers in the late 70's/early 80's what got me hooked on following the club was the great cup nights at Eton Park where it is much easier to recall some of those games than it is the league games of the same era. Some real magical nights!
Great that we are making progress again and let's see what the draw brings tonight. Man City away anybody? Maybe not!!
Also, and I maybe alone in this, I am actually hoping we could do something in the EFL Trophy for once(have we won a match in that competition yet?) as I think if we can get out of the group and get to the later stages it really is something we could actually win and who wouldn't want a nice day out at Wembley and see us turn over Sunderland or Pompey in the final?
Well done again lads for last nights win!!

Morecambe made 7 changes and i was so proud of the Brewers.they gave a very professional performance, and played what was in front of them, They dominated the game and moved onto the next round. This was a game that could have left us with egg on our face.

Now then Ben Robinson. I've a ticket plus parking in my season ticket booklet for what was the Bury game. Are you going to let us use it instead for the Bournemouth game?!

Good call, will be interesting to see what happens at other clubs too re this. More so if we lost two home games but now Bolton seem saved.

Seeing as Bournemouth is a cup game and there are rules about sharing the gate receipts I think it is unlikely that season ticket vouchers would be valid for this one.

How about they give every season ticket holder a free ticket for another league game and let them bring a friend along to a game?

How about they give every season ticket holder a free ticket for another league game and let them bring a friend along to a game? Ultimately those tickets would most probably end up in the hands of people who would have come to the game anyway and therefore reducing match day income. It also doesn't reward/compensate season ticket holders either. I believe the club would not lose a massive amount of money in giving ST holders a free pass for Bournemouth. I also doubt Bournemouth would kick up a fuss if the missed out on a few quid from ticket sales.

It's an interesting situation for the clubs involved to see how they all go about reimbursing season ticket holders. A problem not of their own making but on one hand they will be looking to be fair to s/t holders at the same time as losing out on matchday income which they would have budgeted for.
I'd be surprised if the club offer s/t holders a free ticket to the Bournemouth game as they'll probably price it close to a normal matchday price plus Bournemouth and the EFL are due their cut.
More likely I can see free entry to one or both Checkatrade home matches. Ticket prices more in line with % cost of one season ticket game plus a boost to the normal low Checkatrade attendance. So more through the gate = more refreshments sold so getting back a bit of the loss. If s/t holders decide not to go the club can say well the offer was there.

As Ian says above, just put up with it. That's ok with me, my ST was cheap enough (over 65) but some have paid more, I reckon nearly ÂŁ16 for some and what if Bolton had gone belly up. I'm guessing a good few would be asking, ST this season, value for money?
Just saying BTW not whinging about money lost personally.

We've lost a lot less than the Bury fans who bought season tickets and will probably see nothing. Some may argue that their demise was not our fault. While this is true the Bury fans would probably say the same thing.

I think my initial post on this was and is just a thought. In any other form of entertainment there would be a full and instant refund.
I completely accept that for a whole variety of differing 3rd party reasons it may not be completely feasible.
I do hope the club (or indeed the EFL) show me some consideration and don’t take my commitment for granted when they decide whatever to do. My ticket plus parking is £30.
