Absolutely chuffed with the draw. Always liked Morecambe, a great welcome at their ground, the banner, as Otep mentions.... and the EFL's best pantomime villain in Kevin Ellison. Absolutely looking forward to giving him some stick for probably one last time (he's over 40 now) and, no doubt, getting some back. I'll be after Kev's autograph... and I don't do that sort of stuff...

Watching the game back on ifollow.
Young Sarkic looks a very decent player with a real eye for a pass. Apart from his assist for Boycie's goal, there's one attack where he plays a sublime little threaded ball for Fraser to run onto and not too many players have that kind of ability, especially not at league one level.
If he can get himself up to speed and put a real shift in for 90 minutes, we've got ourselves a real bit of quality. I'm not sure where he fits into the team if Broadhead carries on out wide and we've got Temps to come back as well.
Dare I sat it without washing my mouth out? There may come a point this season where Lucas has to fight for his shirt. Especially if we don't sell Boyce, where things seem to have gone quiet.
Said it already, we may be small on numbers but we're certainly not short of quality.
We might even have a couple of quid in the bank for the first time in ages as well. Things are looking quite rosy indeed.
A huge game on Saturday, if we can beat Rotherham (and we usually do ok against them) it's going to put down a bit of a marker even this early on that we can be contenders.

Well we did a competent job at Vale Park and had enough fire power to do the job, O"Hara dealt with everything with out giving any thing away. While playing on the front foot, the defence gave little away but it was a league 2 strike force, and when they brought Pope on to shake things up.Nigel had Buxton up his sleeve. Midfield very active and Edwards has settled in well, our forward line was very busy stretching there defence. With our very limited resources i feel Nigel has gone for quality over quantity,The good news from broomo:s point of view Akins has many roles. .And Frazer seems cool and letting the club deal with things. This was a challenge and the players coped very well

My first match of the season last night and I was pleased to see us get the win in what probably ought to be been a more convincing score line. It's just that final pass and a bit more composed finishing and we really should be battering teams of the quality of Port Vale.
No stand out performers for me and they were all at least 7/10 and saw the game out OK despite them sending a couple of big lads up front at the end. Fortunately the ref took an instant dislike to Tom Pope and blew up every time he made a challenge which made it easier for us to defend.
Disappointing not to see young Broadhead but let's hope he is raring to go for Saturday and help us to a win over the Millers. Busy run coming up now with at least the next three weeks having a midweek game so hopefully it gives us time to continue to gell and get up to full speed.
Well done lads and bring on The Shrimpers!!

Good to see the referee correctly interpreting the new handball law.
I'm overjoyed at that change ...

Stupid rule imo. Especially when so close. Do they want the players to have their arms tied to their sides like Irish dancers 😁

I got the sarcasm but was completely unaware of the rule changes coming in. It did look harsh but correct within the rules. Check the rule changes at the BBC website. A good read. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48382254

Not good that a foul is a foul on one part of the pitch and not on another.
