Sold their allocation..so hopefully a 4000 crowd for the first game. Although in reality it should be 5000 for the first game with a big following. Ex championship club too. Great first game. Looking forward to it. Hopefully sunny whilst having a pre match beer in town first.

What a first game, home to one of the leagues biggest clubs Ipswich Town, average gate last season 17-765 in a relegation season, highest gate 25-690 in the Arena stadium that holds 30-311.Another club in this division that has a experienced manager in P Lambert, Been in the football league since 1938,been on a low spending 17 years in the Championship, previous managers winning top honors Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson. Careful owners not throwing money at the club, gave into fan power when letting Mick McCarthy move on. Still a very big club and will be able to compete in this league wage wise, players of note Kayden Jackson=Oliver Norwood=Luke Chambers=Nsiala=Garbutt=Bishop=Dozzell=Edwards=Judge still there and hoping to sign Tom Elliot from Millwall. i think they can carry a few injury's. Just signed a goal keeper from Wolves they seem exited about one of the favorites for promotion. Sunderland=Ipswich=Portsmouth=Rotherham=Peterborough=Coventry. Bartonyellow says away end a sell out, should make 4000 gate. First game against a good side hoping for a draw. At the end of last season under Lambert they were a hard working unit. and still fresh from their tour of Germany

Hope they haven't signed Oliver Norwood though otherwise that's one of the promotion spots gone. The lad is one of the best passing midfielders outside of the premier League. He'd destroy league one. Have I missed something? Has he really gone there?

Good signing I fancy. Want looking to correct Trev, I've been focussing on other things and hardly kept up with any summer business outside of us and players I thought we might try to sign.

Listening on Radio Derby today. I hope that Tony Bentley has looked-up the word “supporter” in the dictionary.

Eh.
If that's the best the league has to offer we'll be fine.
Didn't create too much, but neither did they...
Edwards looks lively!

Sounded like a lucky deflection won the points. I didn’t expect to win today - hoped for a draw. The new players need to gel with the squad and i expect 10 games or so before they really click.

I think it was a fair reflection first half, obviously a lucky goal for them, but I reckon they shaded it. 2nd half, we were the better team, but two gilt chances missed.

I'm pretty satisfied with what I saw apart from Boyce. Apart from falling over and trying to get a free kick he doesn't do enough for me.

Listening on Radio Derby today. I hope that Tony Bentley has looked-up the word “supporter” in the dictionary. I switched Radio Derby on in the car park as I drove away - it sound like it had been a really depressing match, we’d had a right mauling and that they were about to don the back cap and sentence Nigel to death in his interview. Had never heard anything quite as ridiculous quite frankly. We had been up against a team who hadn’t had to play in the 3rd tier for 60 years and the favourites for promotion and were beaten 1-0 by a horrendously unlucky deflection. Shading possession 57% to 43%. For God’s sake chaps cheer up, take a chill pill, it was the first game of the season, against a really good team ( yes with their 1st team chef travelling with them on the coach) - we did ok and all we had was luck and the referee against us. Let’s not commit hari kari as yet and give the season a chance to take shape.

It's only the 1st game so best not get too carried away? Buxton had a great game, one of the best I've seen him in an Albion shirt. Edwards looked lively but a bit on the light side, as I was expecting him to be more like Frasers size? Just thought we got out muscled and they were a lot quicker to the ball for long periods. Agree with Clough that nothing really dropped for us, and the clearance off the line summed it up really. Overall I thought they were to physical for us and held us when needed to stop us playing. They got what they came for, 3 points! COYB 👍🏻
