You have to say another interesting move by Nigel for an Australian midfielder playing his football north of the border... If he signs and he's as good as Jackson we'll all be happy....

Loan to permanent later perhaps? Reading the articles it sounds like it hasn't worked out for him at Hearts, barring scoring in the Scottish Cup Final so looks like a permanent deal. Although he wont have played alongside him there, Temps is of course a former Hearts player and perhaps the lad has consulted our former Aussie for some insight on whether to come here. Sounds like an energetic box to box player so might fill the void (and shirt) left by Jamie quite nicely if this one works out.

This lad has started nearly 100 games in Scotland's top flight for Partick and then on loan at St Mirren, having gone back up north after being released by Reading as youngster, he got 4 starts for them and then 8 for Fleetwood, so he's had a taste of English football and he'll be coming here keen to prove he can cut it south of the border. I can't remember Nigel and his team getting too many wrong from Scotland. Maybe Chris Maguire. You'll likely remember as well as me there Trev, has there been another "flop"? If he's a permanent he'll get a 2 year deal. I'd imagine if Josh Murray has announced our interest, we're pretty close to getting him signed. I'll have a quick google of youtube highlights to see if he's worth me losing my easily excited little mind over ;-)

OK, so I'm only 1 minute into a 7 minute vid and I've seen enough. He runs with the ball, breaks quickly, gets up with and then past the centre forward, he's got an eye for a pass, he tracks back and works hard and he runs like buggery. Whoever said he was the next Jamie Allen has nailed it. He's plenty good enough for us. Nigel will add goals to his game and we'll have another potential 300k player to sell in 12 months time. Bookmark and lets see if I'm wrong ;-) www.youtube.com/watch?v=1znrkyaCkSA

Hearts fans don't seem too bothered about him going but I don't think they've seen that much of him....summarising they'd give him 100% for effort, not quite so much for his footballing abilities.... Didn't we have a friendly Jambo posting on here when Jon McLaughlin moved the other way? I wonder what he makes of the forecast move... Are you there Jambo?

Sounds extremely promising to me. Playing that many games in the top Scottish league and playing and scoring in a Cup Final. Having that Australian winners mentality. Possessing an attitude whereby he wants to be out on the pitch playing games and is prepared to go and find a club where he is wanted. Someone who always puts a shift in.

Excellent news. Fantastic signing.
The comments beneath the article posted above don't seem very pro Craig Levein.

Yes, I tried to do a bit of research to see what the Jambos thought about the prospect of losing Edwards to us but came across not much more than a heap of dissent towards Levein... Hoping Craig's done us a favour at least...

With regards the hefty sell-on, it looks like we’ve signed him for nowt but Hearts will get a chunk of any future transfer fee if there is one. Can’t really argue with that, seems like an excellent deal.

Welcome to the club Ryan Edwards. Your experience will be welcomed in our midfield this season. Hopefully you will do as well as our previous raids on the spl.

You can't fail to be happy with players that play with loads of energy and desire
Every comment you can find about him - that's how he is described
Someone who likes to get the ball and drive forward etc
I'm sure he will win over the fans very quickly playing like that
He's bound to have his limits though. Otherwise he wouldn't be signing for us
What's the betting though that a couple of years from now we are selling him on for big profit for both us and Hearts with their sell on clause
This guy just needs the chance to show what he can do based on what I've read about him
