I'm losing count, but 9 or 10 signings for Bolton today some loan, mostly permanent, including Chris O'Grady!
I wonder if any of the players they have picked uo today were targets for us?

The thread is about Bury and Bolton and thus I do apologise for mentioning the name of another club and another injustice arguably impacting us. Coventry City without a ground and not even playing in the city of Coventry take 2 of our players allegedly because they were offered more money.
Priorities. I think that another stipulation that should be made by the EFL is that you must have a ground or at the very least share a ground in the place that you represent. If you can't do that, you are welcome to carry on as a club playing in another town / city but you can't sign anyone. Your money must be invested in getting / sharing a ground in the place that you supposedly represent.

I don't think any of their signings fit the profile of who we would have been discussing on loan today. I didn't think the EFL handled the bury situation too bad considering - Bolton however is a soft matter and shouldn't have been playing any games until now. There will be legal action by the end of the season from a club on this. Someone will miss out on playoffs or will get relegated on goal difference to a club who played Bolton over the last few weeks and improved their goal difference.

Daryl Murphy had been mentioned had he not? Interesting to see on Twitter that the money that has been used today has (of course) been borrowed. That is normal business practice apparently. But £20 million borrowed over three years at 4% suggests £8 million a year on League One/Two budgets?

Daryl Murphy is a great signing for League One He's getting on a bit but still very effective player Would have been good to have him here

The question they should be asking the clubs is "should Bolton have to replay the games they have already played in order to level up the playing field ?"

The EFL and the Premier League as governing bodies are probably awash with money. Perhaps they should employ a team of accountants and for it to be mandatory for these individuals to sit on the Board of all 92 clubs and to have unlimited access to everything at the club. Employing 92 such people seems like small beer to me. Or maybe employ 46 who have 2 clubs each.

No - they might win them and have more chance of staying up Don't worry about what other clubs have done against them These guys getting another relegation is what needs to happen

It has been decided by the EFL members that Bury will not be in League 2 next season. I suppose that a 'turkeys voting for Christmas' scenario prevailed. With only 3 clubs relegated from League 1 instead of 4 this season and 1 club relegated from League 2 instead of 2 in essence someone would have inadvertently voted on their own relegation when the final league tables are determined in May 2020 - to accommodate Bury. Worse still, a club could go under by that relegation - to accommodate Bury. Interesting quote from James Frith MP 'Devastating to hear self-interest was served cold by many @efl clubs today & their decision to relegate one less from L2 than admit Bury to League.' The counter argument is that there was presumably 'self-interest' by Bury FC in living beyond their means to secure an advantage over others. I want Bury FC to survive. Like Luton, Lincoln, Oxford, Leyton Orient, Doncaster, Bristol Rovers, Tranmere, Exeter, Cheltenham, Grimsby, Cambridge, Macclesfield and Mansfield (and any others I have forgotten) I hope they get offered and settle for a place in the Conference and with new energy and financial prudence bounce back in to the league. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49841324

I watched Bolton v Blackpool last night, well tried to. I didn't have a beer last night but you know the feeling when you've had a few and start nodding off in front of the telly, that's how it affected me. Ten minutes into the 2nd half off it went, boring stuff, it's a shame we haven't got Bolton Sat but we have Blackpool later this month, nothing to fear there.

Chichester City FC get an FA Cup bye to round 2 courtesy of Bury and £36,000. They announce that they will donate some of that to Bury.
My immedate thought was that this is real class and how many more wealthy clubs have done similar (genuinely not knowing the answer to that). Then I started thinking that perhaps clubs should not reward the cavalier running of clubs by their owners. I am not sure what to think now. I am leaning more towards advocating money being given to get them back on their feet. They have paid the price.

I don't think anyone would begrudge that and it's a great gesture by Chichester which will generate a lot of goodwill to them. I'd prefer to see any money donated have an attached caveat that it gets paid the moment the clubs current owner leaves.

It's nice to see a football club not putting money first for a change. Although the cynic in me is slightly suspicious that they haven't stated just how much they will be giving away! I wonder whether our club would have done the same?

This is an absolute disgrace. Failing to fulfil fixtures is a very serious offence and yet Bolton are not punished for it ! Is it 1 April already? Can I believe what I am reading? I always got the feeling throughout the trials and tribulations of Bury and Bolton that one was being looked upon more favourably than the other. I had no evidence to substantiate that, it was only a gut feeling. One never ceases to be amazed by some of the decisions made by football governing bodies. Talk about a dangerous precedent. The next club that decides not to play a fixture on a whim can point to the Bolton case. I really hope Bolton get relegated. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50420657

Luke Murphy looked really good for them on the highlights show last weekend. Shame we didn’t offload Boyce to them for the alleged £1m at the start of last season, not that we’d have seen all of the £1m presumably.

No problem, slap on the wrist, "I've just used a rather silly word and been auto-edited" the integrity if the competition. Next season, still cant be arsed, not interested in the competition, ah "I've just used a rather silly word and been auto-edited" that, we'll call a game off. censored work to the EFL, Yyou are ruining our game.
