I still think there must have been some sort of unique record created in that game - we were behind in that match for 96 minutes! Has any side been behind in any game for that long a time? That one didn't do anything for me, the equaliser made no difference to the situation in the next match. I think that is the case anyway. The next match was away to Morecambe. The Brewers won 2-1 and got promoted to League One. Or did you know that anyway

Was still massive though, every game was nerve wracking by that point, momentum and all that...

Some really good choices there. My favourite was in our first season at the Pirelli, a Tuesday evening in December 2005, Burton 4 Burscough 1, FA Cup 2nd Round, game postponed from the Saturday due to heavy rain and pitch issues, the draw for the 3rd round had already been made and the winners knew they'd be at home to Manchester United. Both teams went at for it for the whole match, we went 3-0 up after about 20 minutes but never felt comfortable as Burscough never stopped coming at us, even though we were still attacking them. They pulled a goal back to make things a bit nervy and it was only when Keet? scored with about 10 minutes left to make it 4-1 that things started to quieten down a bit. In the summer of that year I started a new job back in Burton. I was younger and slimmer then too. Happy days. That's right at the top of my list as well. Sponsored the game sitting in a box which is nice but still somehow not the same and Keet was absolute class. His first touch and the way he hugged the touchline was just a pure joy to watch. I know we won the game but it was never a 4-1, it was much closer than the scoreline suggested. Of course we all know what the Burscough game did for us. Huge win. Just huge.

I'd have to look back at the tables at the time.

So, I've looked back at the table on that night.
Whatever the score had been we could not have confirmed promotion.
A loss would have kept us 1 point ahead of Shrewsbury as we went for the title. That is what we were heading for. A draw meant we were two points ahead of Shrewsbury. That seemed immaterial to me. A victory would have put us 4 points ahead. That would have made a difference.
