Always Barnet (a) 21 September 2004. A night when the football family stood and applauded together. Nobody told the Barnet fans to applaud Nigel they just did it.

Fa trophy Semi Final 2nd leg away at Dartford back in '87. We took a slender 2-1 1st leg lead into the game. Knowing what was at stake it was a nervy affair. Filling our allocation along the side of the pitch the stand erupted when we took the lead! Then 2-0!! I recall the burton fans singing cheerio and waving at the dejected Dartford fans sneaking out before the final whistle. Jubilant scenes that will always stay with me. Some performance that.

Remember that night well brewersinramland. Many many favourites to be honest Ian but December 1984 away to Aldershot when we were non league they were a league club FA Cup 2nd round. Again against all the odds winning 2-0 setting us up for a 3rd round meeting with Leicester City which became a very famous game for certain reasons.

Burton 4 York 3 2007.
Aaron got sent off conceding a penalty to put them 2 ahead.
3-1 down going into the last 15 minutes, Danny Holmes got the winner deep into added time. I think it was around that time I started fancying us a bit of a force in the Blue Square.
I particularly enjoyed beating York as UKPHil who I never met used to give us some incredible stick calling us tinpot.
I missed either the game before or the game after that one stuck in Luton airport without my driving license so they wouldn't let me pick up the hire car. I'd somehow left the office in Warsaw without my wallet.
Typical me really, I'd forget my head if I could. Happy, happy days.

My memory is not what it was but Oldham away in the cup, down to 10 men and scrapped out a draw.

I’m clear as day about this one, conscious I mention it on here quite often! Southend on a Tuesday night during the run-in when we won League 2. I have never had an adrenaline hit like it from a match; I couldn’t sleep until about 2am afterwards. I remember texting my wife at half time something along the lines of "In the first half we've conceded a penalty, saved it, had two players taken off injured, conceded a goal, got in a punch up and had a man sent off! Not too hopeful for second half!" So many memories from that night, including Dan Bentley (who’s just gone to Bristol City from Brentford incidentally) goading us behind the goal early in the second half then getting his comeuppance. A massive win in the context of the season at that point and where it went... COYB.

Probably feeling giddy after an incredible day cricket wise but doesn’t that Ceefax image just take you back to happier more innocent times. The internet is a wonderful resource information wise but boy has it changed things socially and in the the way society ‘is’... it’s a complex world out there now but I swear things were simpler when I grew up... I remember when OK Computer by Radiohead came out mid-late nineties, it felt like the future in sound form... I’m sure many of you had the same before that with other records... just don’t think an equivalent exists now... can only hope Lucas Akins plays on (for us) until he’s 39 and keeps that link back to the incredible L2-to-Championship journey which we’re still riding in many ways...

Mine is also a L2 promotion season game. Late in the season midweek home to Carlisle. They score after 2 minutes and park the bus. Wave after wave after wave of attack and nothing until a 95 minute pen. Mcrory does the honourable thing and misses to secure the motm for their keeper only to be thwarted by Denny Johnstone in the 98 minute - scenes!
Closely followed by wolves at home in the 1st championship season.

I've had a think and I'm not really sure I have a favourite game.
There's a lot of very very good ones that stand out in my mind, but all for different reasons.
I guess that's a good thing.

Retro clasico. If you Google that... I thought that was when Barcelona still didn’t have a shirt sponsor and Fernando Hierro was at the back for Real Madrid?!

Some really good choices there. My favourite was in our first season at the Pirelli, a Tuesday evening in December 2005, Burton 4 Burscough 1, FA Cup 2nd Round, game postponed from the Saturday due to heavy rain and pitch issues, the draw for the 3rd round had already been made and the winners knew they'd be at home to Manchester United. Both teams went at for it for the whole match, we went 3-0 up after about 20 minutes but never felt comfortable as Burscough never stopped coming at us, even though we were still attacking them. They pulled a goal back to make things a bit nervy and it was only when Keet? scored with about 10 minutes left to make it 4-1 that things started to quieten down a bit.
In the summer of that year I started a new job back in Burton. I was younger and slimmer then too. Happy days.

Although I went for the Cambridge game for the mug, there are many other games. Several mentioned on here.
In the end, I still go back to the Southern League Cup Final v Hastings. Two legged game, but we did the business in both games.
First silverware in the Clough era.

Has any side been behind in any game for that long a time?
