looking at his profile and then comparing him to Brad I know I'm not the only one who isn't chuffed to bits and maybe even a little bit excited about this lad joining us.
COYB.
I can't wait for the season to start.
As long as it's nice and quiet on the "Outs" front I'm happy to go with what we've got now.
Loans in from Man Utd and CHelsea and that's off the back of some very good loans from Man City, Southampton and Leicester. Seems the top clubs are starting to trust us with their young un's.

Ladies and Gents I KNOW I can get carried away at times and I KNOW sometimes I must be annoyingly positive, I even annoy myself at times but..... Just listened to his interview on the club website, he is another one who comes across brilliantly. He sounds like an intelligent lad and he's here for all the right reasons. Looking at the keepers to come out of Old Trafford at all levels over the last decade or so and you know he's got to be decent. www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/2019/july/0807-kieranvideo/If you've not got an ifollow account, it really is worth setting one up, even if it's only for the free videos and not the monthly pass. Come on Kieran bonnie lad. Come on!!!!!

Yet another example of why Nigel's very public 'we'll playing it out from the back' strategy has worked so well in getting loanees from Premier League clubs. Clever manager that Nigel.

It looks like a great signing for us and a great opportunity for Kieran. Welcome.

Over 6 foot 2 having coped with league 2, and with better protection he must be used to route one football, had a great season last year also been on international duty. looking a sound addition to the squad, any body connected to Man Utd should have pedigree. Keeping our present squad with a tweak here and there would be a positive set up for competing in 2019/20 season fingers crossed.

He pretty much kept Macclesfield up last year, looks promising.

Really pleased with this signing. At 23 and a full season under his belt in L2 and scoping all the end of season awards this sounds like a keeper who is on the up. He sounds at least the equivalent of Collins and hopefully even an upgrade.
There has been the obvious meltdown every time we lose players such as Brad, Kyle and Jamie but in my opinion those three have now been fully replaced and will hopefully be improved upon but time will tell.
As somebody said earlier the very fact that top Premier League clubs are prepared to trust us with their youngsters is testament to what the outside world think of our club and especially Nigel and blows the theory that he only signs he mates well and truly out of the water.
Great work by the club but come on, let's have a couple more before the season starts as we're all greedy for more!

What an absolutely fantastic signing. The awards that he won last season speak volumes to me.
The difference between an excellent, a good and an average goalkeeper in terms of the points on the board can be extremely significant.
Because of one second in time in a football match, an extremely significant second, I don't really like speaking badly of Stephen Bywater. That moment was that 'Gordon Banks Pele header save' at Barnsley that got us a second Championship season. Other than that moment, I haven't really got many positive Bywater memories. Sorry to be negative about a player - but that's how it is. A goalkeeper playing for us that isn't Stephen Bywater is a positive for me. (Funny how Luke Varney also had a crucial moment in that Barnsley game and, in my opinion, did nothing else remotely memorable at the club).

Has the potential to be an absolute cracking signing. The jigsaw is all but complete. I’m certainly happy and excited for the new season to start. It’s going to be another tough season with Portsmouth, Sunderland, Coventry etc etc to compete with but Burton Albion never shirk a challenge and I really do have a good feeling about this season. It feels like the squad is 95% there before the season starts this year. Last year (or maybe the season before) it felt like it came together quite late in the day, with loan signings coming in late.
I'd say we're there now. Anything else is fine tuning rather than essential.

Sounds a good signing, I've not read up on him yet, I'll trust in NC and what you lot say.
How are we in each area of the squad now, mostly coverd or do we need an extra body or two to be complete?

Great work by the club but come on, let's have a couple more before the season starts as we're all greedy for more! Interesting final point there Annable. I was looking at the size of the squad earlier and on the club website we currently have 24 players. Now granted included in there are Jack Livesey (goalkeeper) and the three Academy lads given their first contracts (Ethan Vale, Nathan Morley and Ben Hart) and I wouldn't expect all four to feature that heavily beyond pre-season, unless they impress like Reece did this time last summer. I think we may see another loan or two towards the end of the window and, of course, we may well have a triallist or two in the friendlies. Would be surprised if we didn't. As far as Kieran is concerned. We lost out on Brad and have picked up another young keeper in almost exactly the same position eg just had their first full season in the division below and now ready for a step up in division at a club where he will get the chance to play in a side that likes to play out from the back. Bit disappointed we couldn't get that De Gea or Romero though. Think they might be better prospects to be honest.

In my mind we just need another centre back. We have Nartey and Bucko (I think), so one other would be good. Bucko will do for the start of the season, I just worry about age and fitness to last a whole 50 odd game season.

I wouldn't mind another attacking midfielder, ideally right sided. Someone with energy but maybe I'm being greedy and maybe we've already got that player in Joe. Maybe a right back? That's probably the only position now where we don't have "specialist" cover but if we bring one in it limits Ben Fox's opportunities. I've just gone through each dept and had a think about how interchangeable (I couldn't think of the right simple word) our players are. I'd love another signing just for the excitement but I think right now we're covered.

Two ways of looking at this one: ROI under 21 keeper and good man utd prospect, or keeper from L2 relegation scrap who shipped 74 goals last season....
Whilst I hope it works out and it quite possibly will, I cant help but think this could easily go the other way.
Pleased we have done the business in time for pre season. I don't think this gets us closer to the play offs though so can't get too excited by it.
