I notice the club are starting to sell next season’s replica shirt from tomorrow. I’m not too fussed either way, but I note that the usual crew got their collective knickers in a twist last season, so thought it would be appropriate to post the good news aspect to balance the moans.

Yep, good to see.
I can understand the gripes, it's nice turning up on day 1 with the new kit on. I guess!
May even get one this year... Last one I had was from 2 or 3 years ago now

If you don't have a go nothing gets done. Anyway, excellent they have decided to listen and get the new shirt sorted so early.

I was surprised to find myself buying a Brewers mug from a shop in Dartmouth a few days ago. I just point out that this shop specialised in selling "Vintage football Mugs". It was nice though to see a shop selling football souvenirs from less fashionable clubs like Colchester, Port Vale, and Burton Albion, rather than Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool etc. The mug features the man with a beer barrel on his left shoulder.

We went in that same shop last year and was surprised to see it ,unlike you I didn't purchase it .But it does make a pleasant change to see other lesser teams with souvenirs on sale in shops .

I very, very, very much doubt that the decision had anything to do or any connection whatsoever with what anybody posted anywhere about anything.

Just maybe that subject was discussed at the SLG meeting, well they did ask for questions to put to the club. Page 2 in the link below. burtonbrewers.proboards.com/thread/3486/supporters-liaison-group-slg?page=2nd Plus the fact they wanted to announce the new kit at the players awards evening has also prompted them to be more positive with this in future. I see this week they have already had an influx of buyers for the new kit, maybe they are listening to us??

Maybe not, but we can speak our opinion... Who is saying that you can’t? Your general attitude implies it.

Who is saying that you can’t? Your general attitude implies it. More about your interpretation than my implication. Apology accepted.

I've no doubt that the SLG has positively influenced this and many other decisions made by the club. I'm also know that posts made on here or on Facebook are filtered through the SLG, because I have made them.
It is also a good business decision made easier by the fact we are keeping the same sponsors and same kit provider. The former has not always been possible.

I remain sceptical about the value (or indeed the motive) of moaning about the club on social media, but this does emphasise the important role of the SLG and, if members of the SLG take forward legitimate issues from here then that can only be a good thing. However, I’m now thinking that those that complained were probably right, and the club seriously at fault, if it took postings on here to tell them they had screwed up last season. They should already have known that and already have taken steps to resolve it the following season, which is what I assumed they had done.

The word social media leaves me perplexed not having contact with facebook or twitter, each club has a football forum and i believe it gives people a chance to air their views, face book and twitter relates to me personnel messages containing content from every day affairs to share with the media, football has its own place on a clubs football forum ,We are lucky on this one that people involved with the club comment in this forum, anything that can benefit the club or brought up in a discussion at a meeting is what the S_L_G is all about
