What a wonderful interview and story. Aaron took some stick from the Gaffer over the years but this probably proves how much he was loved and respected.

He only does it to those he thinks have much more to give. It's when he's not talking to you or pushing you, you should start to worry. It's the same with Boycie now but I suspect Boyce's agent doesn't see it the way he should see it. I used to wish he'd cut Aaron and a bit of slack at times, I wish he'd praise Boyce a touch more than he does BUT.... his style works. If you're a player and you've got anything about you, if NC pulls you up on something, smile, keep your head down and do what it is he's asking you to do. You'll be a better player for it. ESPECIALLY if you're an intelligent, link up centre forward who can score goals. There weren't too many better than him at that. Aaron is pure class by the way, to end it on topic. It's so lovely to see his smile and clear love for the club around the place. |
