What a read justifying what many of us on this forum stated to the boo boys and facebook and twitter jokers, All that is difficult in football Burton Albion have has a football club, and what a insult to the Chairman having to justify playing in the championship was out of our capabilities. 38 clubs in the lower leagues playing to half filled stadiums We QUALIFY. league 2= 5000 gates needed to be competitive, League 1 =10-000 gates to be competitive=shucks that's more than our capacity .What a joy for the faithful having witnessed what has been a miracle on the pitch over the last 10 years, and shows without doubt, with our fan base and infrastructure what a well run club this is, and competing in league 1 is unbelievable with so little resources and critics are not facing reality

Derby sitting 49th owes a lot to selling their ground,to a company owned by owner Mel Morris. Monday is a must win game, the 170 million and premiership football a must, having spent multi millions in the championship, and having to sell of assets to comply with fair play legislation. 4 of their major players are on loan. Monday could be complete meltdown for our big neighbors. Got to disagree with you Trev, they wouldn't bank on getting into the Premiership, that would be stupid. Any club at whatever level you are playing in should have a plan A and a plan B, just like we have I guess. It's just some clubs seem to get it wrong, I give you Bolton as one of those.

Here is my take on it, Clough in his spell at Derby under the yanks and glick who was C_E_O,got rid of some very big earners at the club, which was in turmoil. Still carrying some who refused to budge,He had put together a competitive team.and finished 12th and 10th in the championship. Glick then moved to Man city, and former agent Sam Rush became C_E_O and wanted a football director and committee to oversee football matters. With Clough becoming Head Coach. Nigel wasn't having it,he wanted the final say. After a quite start in 2013 after losing 1-o to forest away , clough was sacked, which was a shock to most Derby fans. Maclaren was appointed yes Head Coach.with 2 x players appointed coaches.AFter a lot of talk about the next level, and scouts covering the continent. 2013/14 season they reached the playoff final with 9 of the 11 clough had signed -Wisdom and thorne were on loan.after this game Mel Morris bought the club. With 30 million spent on this team the riches of premier league was imminent,Now the club is broke into 5 companies. And the ground does not belong to Derby County but a another company and derby will have to lease it back,Mel Morris wants some of his money back, And Championship money wont do it

Spot on Trev! For Direby it is a must win, they have gambled all on the holy grail of premiership football, if they lose, Mr Morris has publically stated he is out, basically without the premiership windfall, Direby could well be in big big trouble.

So going into the 7th season having sacked Cloughi for leading them from a downward spiral to championship football top ten this was not good enough for this great club and a new level-or next phase was required, and the club would move in a new direction.

Stupidity can only be guide to learn from, and history makes the future bright but only if we learn, getting over it means we turn a blind eye,and silly people still make decisions that can effect events in our present,This post is about, wise people and Ben Robinson fits the bill,Give him 100 million and see the difference.

Inter Milan deploying the merry go round system of management x Roma and Zenit boss taking them into the champions league, and finishing 4th in the league. Spalletti gets fired after 2 seasons.and Conti who has been out of work for a year ,after being sacked by Chelsea, comes in, Nice to know this forum now brings european football into a debate over Stability and the role of Chairman and the merit of hire and fire. Chairman i keep dropping clangers screw you get over it,My club my rules.I can always sell the best players, and the assets like the stadium. Notts County=Coventry=Bolton=Sunderland, The list goes on.GET OVER It, think of the fun i've had Cost me a lot of money, but you cant put a price on a hobby.

Looking at Burton over the last 6 years the club has grown from spending 20-000 on players to 900-000 at the present day but on this cost have had two playoffs and two automatic promotions, two seasons of championship football one relegation and now stand as a league 1 club. Only one manager has been sacked since oct 1998. The present manager has been with the club 14 years and over 600 games. MERRY GO ROUND Derby County. In 2013 Derby county sacked Nigel clough, that season they reached the playoff final losing 1-0 in extra time to -Q_P_R,The team started with 9 signings made by Clough and two loan signings at a total cost of 2-7 million pounds. During the last 6 years Derby have remained a championship club, this will now go into a 7th year. In sept 2015 Mel Morris bought Derby County, Since 2013 Derby have had 10 managers, Since buying the club Mel Morris has put over 100 million into the club. He has been paying over 1-25 million a month to players not even in the squad,And the team playing in the 2019 play off final cost e-s-t- £30 million , Looking forward to their retained list. And their assets ground etc sold to other companies, And so to the title of this thread
