In summary, money. Which is fair enough, I guess.

"Kyle is one of those whose contract was a carry-over from the Championship as well, albeit reduced.
No, no, no, no, no. We all know from that font of all knowledge on here that there was no relegation wage reduction clause in Kyle's contract!

I noticed in Nigel's comments he said we paid £250,000 for Kyle. Was it an undisclosed at the time or was that figure known? Can't recall.

Have to be a proper Royston to believe there isn't a relegation clause in a footballers contract 😂

Only the serial Clough/club haters won't see the logic in this.
I think Fadz is great, I love watching him play, especially in the second half of this season and, as my mate said last week, every match we ever watch ought to feature a champagne moment like Fadz's free kick against Accy... "will he, won't he, bloody hell he will.... yesssss!" But*... he's 32, he's got a young family, he's got to maximise his income in the time he has left playing. He'll have asked for more money, over a longer period, than we can say yes to. And fair play to him... he's got to ask. The result is an amicable parting of the ways. Not "got rid of" or any of that crap. We'll move on, like we always do. No great drama.
* The other but is that, although he's been ok this season, this is player who, within one season, served two bans, one for elbowing a player running past him, the other for stomping on Sam Winnall's nuts, both offences missed by the ref but picked up on video.

As I said on another thread (or elsewhere), came in as an 'enforcer' left as a Beckenbauer (metaphorically). Another player improved by working with Clough and the team. I wish him well, despite him being a Blunt, I always liked the way he played (less so the Beckenbauer - I am old school )

I don’t think Kyle will necessarily be moving up a league at his age. But maybe to a ‘bigger’ club in his eyes. Someone who may splash the cash like Bolton or Bradford.

As good as he has been in the second half of the season, and don't get me wrong, I would have liked to see him stay...….I think myself and some others worked out that he had conceded at least four penalties this season. Aston Villa (ok, it was for a deliberate handball that was eventually saved and got us through in the Carabao Cup), Charlton (home), Wycombe (away), Accrington (away). After that first season and those disciplinary issues, Kyle undoubtedly improved and formed a good partnership with Jake after Christmas. The manager clearly has a plan and we need to let him get on with it.

Certainly he will improve his money. I think he's improved his stock in the last two seasons and especially this one

The heard mentality has kicked again i see with no one being prepared to question any of this. Pathetic. I will tell you what happened here. Kyles contract did not include a salary reduction following promotion and the owner wanted him out last summer but kyle wouldnt budge so the gaffa tried again in jan telling him he cud go kyle said no then they offered a new contract on less money after pushing Turner out the door he again said no. Thats whats happened and i would not be at all surprised if the gaffa doesnt involve at all today? We are at risk now of having no CB’s at the club in the summer if Jake goes off ciaching good luck gaffa trying to get 2 or 3 CB’s in for nowt to replace two proven quality ones youve ket go

What is pathetic is your pursuit of these baseless accusations against all and sundry at the club with no evidence to back it up.
Why would we question something that makes perfectly sound financial sense to anyone with half a brain. Kyle is a high earner. Even on a reduced contract as confirmed by the manager. We have a reduced budget for next year. Kyle goes with our best wishes and we move on to players we can afford. They might not be as good as Kyle but we signed him as a Championship defender and we are no longer a club at that level. Every year the manager gets criticised for his retained list and every year he ends up with a more than decent squad. Some people never learn.

In reality it is kyle we should be keeping

But we cannot afford the money to meet Kyle’s demands. Nigel is realistic enough about that. Nigel has made it clear they had a conversation in January. Clearly they were too far apart and mutually agreed to part company at the end of his contract. It’s not about Nigel making the decision but then again, that is his job at the end of the day.
Jake will not be on as much money and is affordable within our budget and is a great leader off the pitch too. No surprise the manager is trying to keep him for another season. The two have worked together for many years and know how to bring the best out in Jake.
Over the years we have seen uproar about the likes of Daryl Clare, Robbie Weir, Shane Cansdell-Sherrif, Matty Palmer being let go. How many have gone on to bigger and better things?

Have some balls and tell us once and for all. Some of the information you give on here breaks confidentiality rules. You really are a nasty piece of work and I hope your brother is proud of you. We'll be better off without you both, whichever one you are.
