Loan Bywater to Blackpool? Then he would be Bywater by water. And they need a goalie after today. Jamie Allen is a gentleman.

In a way, it was fortunate the ball ran towards the 'keeper. In the end I think both Jamie and the ref did the right thing. Having snapped an Achilles once, you just fall down, there is no real option. It is not fun at all and 12 weeks in plaster, or an operation and 8 weeks or so in plaster is not fun either...

I'd like to see that again. Is it available anywhere? It just looked certain that Jamie would score and the game just seemed to stop.
Yes 4 keepers listed but I doubt that will be the situation come June.

The reaction to the Jamie Allen incident would have been different maybe if we had ended up losing! In the end it did not matter.

Our goalkeeping situation has been poor, and not enough attention to detail==Bywater interesting to see what club gives him a contract -Campbell our future brought in as no2 trained over many years by our coaches ,his time came, big reversal deemed not good enough. Hawkins who knows after training Campbell,it leaves little faith in our lot,,..Martin Taylor---must try harder. Collins a chelsea academy player age 22 played at under 21 level, and in league 2====now no 1 for the brewers. 4 goalkeepers on paper,4 wages to go into 2===a no 1 ,and a capable no 2. Collins is proving a very capable goal keeper, and is the part of the reason why results have improved. The club should learn valuable lessons and make the goalkeeper ,a main priority. Just thinking someone could just do a job,is a dangerous precedent. and Bywater and Campbell a big learning curve

I have a suspicion that Bywater may still be on the books next season.

With Collins out of contract at Chelsea in the summer and it being unlikely, in my opinion, that they will offer him another one we should be going all out to try and get him signed on permanently.
I know he has started to play well for us in the last few months but I just can't see anybody from a higher level signing him on and making him their number one straight away. Yes he could sign for a Championship team but perhaps as a young up and coming number two at best. With us he would be guaranteed to be number one and then in a couple of years get a move upwards once he is more established. That's how I would be looking at it if I were him but I guess the dirty word "money" might come into it again.

Collins i hope is a priority and could be a shrewd investment for the future , Burton Albion is a good training ground for young players, and a route into league football, from academies. His career has moved on from a no 2. With no contract on offer he is free to leave surly, must be something in the wind could we afford a young chelsea cast off. For me a 3 year contract and there is money to be made,

I didn’t take to Collins at first. One or two errors of judgement in decision making that I think a more experienced keeper wouldn’t have made. To be frank I’ve not really seen him under serious pressure, the defence has been pretty tight and we’ve not lost many games over a long period of time. I have seen him make though a handful of really outstanding goal saving saves so maybe he’s worth a punt.
Certainly we haven’t really sorted the keeper situation since McLaughlin left for more dosh.
I’d be happy with Bywater getting another contract. We had a bad August which he seems to have been scapegoated for but he’s been generally OK over his time, decent cover or better. He’s only 37 with 400 league games behind him.
