I think he has been a top player for us, I don't think he ever did anything but give his all. We took a gamble on him when he left Cardiff, he played through two seasons in the Championship and now in League One. Those who have spoken to him speak well of him.
I wish him well, thanks Ben, I hope you get fixed up when you are over your injury.

Top player. Seems like a top bloke too. I like him.
Seemed like a leader on the pitch at all times.
Sad to see him leave!

Very sad to see him go. He was an absolute colossus at times in the Championship. It worries me to see his calibre leave the club.

That really is a dreadful decision and one we will probably regret. He Was our only naturally left footed centre back, with huge aerial presence championship and premiereship experience. If NC thinks we dont need a player of his ability going forward and isnt in his plans he has lost the plot. Ben and Kyle kept us in the Championship yet the manager now considers both cover for Buxton and Brayford. That is crazy. Ben has a 42% win rate this season in league games he has started. Burton as a club have a win rate of 30%. That alone should send alarm bells going........ I assume Ben has accepted the payoff Damian declined ? Good luck to you Ben you deserve better and ive no doubt he wouldnt want to sit on the bench in the last 4 months of his contract watching?

I'll leave it to you to say he deserved better. I'll leave i to you to say the manager has lost the plot and to insinuate the decision will cost us. I'm not saying your glass is half empty. I'm saying your glass has a permanent leak in it. You still think we'll only get 40-42 goals and Boyce will be sold to asset strip so we can accept relegation?

Sounds like we couldn't afford him. Championship wages on a league 2 budget. If fans want good players they have to get off their backsides and turn up on a Saturday Afternoon. There is no magic money tree.

You need to learn to argue in a less confrontational manner. Put your point across clearly and coherently without flipping the monopoly board over. I agree with Royston insofar that this decision will cost us points this season. Boyce may yet be sold, but hopefully that's unlikely! Scottish window has another 35 mins.

I will try and explain my dissaproval of this piece of crazy business simply ...... just for you Ben was the only centre back we have ever had that had played in the prem. with over 200 champ apps aswell He is the only naturally left footed centre back we have. He was recruited to Play for us in the champ yet is not needed by us in Div 1. We have won far more league games this season when he plays than when he does not. That was also the case in each of the previous 2 seasons aswell. And finally he and Kyle have a fine record for our club when they play together. This decision smacks of a manager surrounding himself with his trusted favourites. Hence the reason why he was also prepared to let Kyle go and an intention to play Buxton and Brayford? We will regret this

I don't think this was an over confrontational argument. I read the statement from the club. I see it as a pragmatic decision and one that gives Turner the best chance of a great deal in the last few years of his career.
Sunderland have just paid £3 million rising to £4 million for Will Grigg. A real shame we missed out on him.

And before a total shit storm of an over reaction starts.
Google left by mutual consent and see how many players at how many clubs have been let go early.
Still if we just want to let the forum run with it being Nigel being nasty and spiteful carry on.
It's football, it happens.
For the record. I loved Turner and as I said earlier, yes it's surprised me.

I just strongly disagree with the agenda driven rest of your post. You're looking for things that aren't there. I don't know if you pay the fiver a month to subscribe to ifollow, but if you don't, it's well worth the fiver. The mood at the club amongst players and manager is buzzing.

Ian weve just made £900,000 in one round of the league cup and probably a quarter more over the whole cup run. That is the entire wage budget for the season but that is not the issue is it. The real problem is we have released a CB who is better than the ones we are keeping on the books, one of which isnt a really CB is he?

If all posters want me to stop swearing, let them ask me themselves. Unless I've missed something and you've just been elected president of the world?

A) very doubtful it is anywhere near £900k for the game with City B) very unlikely there was £200k from the previous games C) wage budget for the season £1.1 million? Ha ha, ha, ha, ha. Welcome Alex by the way.

I can only go on the twenty odd interviews I've watched over the last two days. And the gaffer publicly praises?............. How do you miss that? You've either got to be deaf or deliberately ignoring it. If you can, go and watch Lucas Akins, Marcus Harness, Stephen Quinn, Kieran Wallace (the non-entity we signed), watch their interviews and tell me the mood is negative.

Welcome Alex by the way. The figure of £900,000 is from Ben Robinson in recent interviews. We played Burnley, Villa, Midds and Forest plus the Shrews. £200,000 is probably conservative. The playing wage budget is actually £1.5m
