Me dad would have said, "We were lucky to get nil."
No complaints, well done City.
I didn't enjoy that at all.

Well I for one didn't even get to witness it, we spent 5 hours, most of which was stationary on the M6. It was full time by the time we got off the M6... B--- hell what's that all about, how many stuck on the M6? They mentioned about some fans being delayed around KO

Well the managers have sat down and had a glass of wine together.
Gabriel jesus on loan would be OK, I guess.

Joking apart, I expected City to be good but not THAT good. Blimey. Their passing was incredible and they seemed to have three or four extra players on the pitch. They always seemed to have a bloke stood out on the wing. I don't remember any howlers for their goals - they were just too fast for us. It was incredible. There's not many times a game finishes and you think "Thank goodness it was only nine!" Reminded me of being a kid and playing football on Sunday mornings. All the best players played for one or two teams - Chesapeake & Littleover Dazzlers and they smashed teams every week. We were just desperate to get those games out of the way and play a proper team! It struck me that the gulf these days between League 1 and the very best Premier League teams is bigger than it was in the FA Cup 3rd round between Man U 2nd string and Burton in the Conference. We take the money, Nigel spends some and we move on. Well done lads for getting us so far.

I don't know, but I feel like people will get a bit bored of the same 6 contending every year by 2050.

Hey ho its saturday that counts COYB Inevitable whatever formation. City are probably imo the best team in Europe right now, top form. The early goal settled their nerves, and before long the wind was knocked from our sails. Thought that for all their quality and dominance we could have done better but as I say.. Inevitable outcome. That experience won't harm anybody at all. Roll on Gillingham and 3 points

Don't you think Collins was at fault for the first 2 goals and the 4th? I suspect that had Bywater been playing and done the same then there would have been a host of people posting criticism. Being based in the south I tend to see mainly away games, so have to concede I only see the TV highlights most of of the time. I was at the Luton game just before Christmas Luton and felt he could have done better for the first goal. Beaten at his near post and diving forward, neither covering his near post nor diving across his goal in anticipation of the shot going across him, which might at least have given him a chance of saving with his feet. Just caught in no man's land. Same happened tonight with the second goal came out then pulled out of the challenge and tried to save with his feet. He seems to lack mobility as well as presence - not even a token effort to try to stop the first goal when it was clear where the header was going. Way off his line for the fourth, though in fairness he could hardly have anticipated that an intended cross would turn into a shot. Is it my imagination, or are the the defence nervous of him? I suspect that the deal with Chelsea requires us to give him as much experience as possible, but I hope he is rested on Saturday and Evtimov given a chance. I don't think he is yet a competent league 1 keeper. Or am I being too critical?

I hope Evtimov gets another chance soon enough but I just can't see it.

I don't think he is yet a competent league 1 keeper. Or am I being too critical? The first goal. We were sat right behind it. Perfect cross. I said to my mate who was with me. You and I could have put that header in. No keeper in the world gets close to that. Both the cross and header were mlles from the keeper. He couldn't get even close to it. The fourth goal. He was right to be off his line. No player NORMALLY would even attempt a shot like that from there. There's even question marks whether the City player meant it. That was either the best individual goal of the game or a complete fluke. Either way it was again unstoppable due to him hitting it first time and the height and dip on the ball. Some of the other goals if anyone was at fault it was our defence being slow to react to rebounds etc. IMO. Or rather City players being quicker to react or just knowing the right place to be. I don't think the keeper did much wrong tbh. Weve had plenty of clean sheets lately against normal teams. I don't think the defence are nervous of him.

The delivery of the ball from City was incredible. The dinks over the back line they kept doing. And the pace and the quailty of the players running on to them. They just kept getting in behind the defence again and again. They could have scored more tbh. First half early on they weren't as precise with their crossing once behind our defence. Thank god.
And it was all team football apart from that cross/shot. There weren't any incredible individual goals. They don't play that way despite the great individual players they have.
The dinks they use were clearly very hard to defend against. Not sure if that's how City always play? Ive never seen a team use them so much so effectively.

I have to say that I am immensely proud of our club and its achievements over the years and this season saw us win some fantastic games against big teams to get us through to the semi final of the league cup. Well done to all concerned.
However, as somebody who gets pleasure from seeing the Brewers play well and win last night was a very chastening experience and one I don't want to repeat anytime soon. From the journey on the coach to the ground, and we were one of the "lucky ones" that just made it on time, to the climb up to our seats to the 90 minutes itself it wasn't a night I enjoyed. Nigel told us all to enjoy it and I think he was doing his best to keep spirits up but I just couldn't find it in me to enjoy seeing us thrashed in that way.
No criticism of any of the players from me and the night was summed up for me in injury time when the ball went out for a goal kick and Bucko but both arms aloft as if to say "Yes! We are not going to concede 10!".
I had actually been really fearful of this sort of outcome especially after they stuck seven past Rotherham at the weekend and so it turned out.
Let's hope things can get back to normal on Saturday and we can roll over the Gills.

If that team stuck 7+ past a prem team you'd say, fair enough and move on.

The half time pitch commentators at the game mentioned we got forward more In the 20 min spell after the first goal than Rotherham did all game. For the home game weve nothing to lose now. May as well just play as much good football as we can and go at them.
