I tend to agree observer which is why I'd like to see him in a two up front but that doesn't really fit our strengths at the moment. I guess we need attacking midfielders and wingers to work off him if he's playing alone up front At our level I do think it can work We are playing some great attacking football with him as a target man

Re Boyce - I think the bigger and better teams than us will have recognised he's great at receiving and holding up the ball and laying it off etc but they need a striker who can do more than that himself Certain things he is certainly top quality at. But he lacks pace and other things they will want from a striker at a better level than us just a thought on Boyce. In what role did he play in the Ross County team when he was top scorer in the Scottish Prem? Was it 2 up front or on his own. Yeah I know that league isn't the best in the world and most of his goals came against lower opposition but they obviously got the best out of him goals wise. A bit like Beavon before him, often fantastic at holding up the ball to bring others into it but didn't score that many himself.

What I am impressed with at the moment is that some thought is being given to the future i.e not just the current season but preparing for next so that we can hit the ground running from August next season rather than finalising the squad at the end of the window. I think the reason that we are not in a better position in the league is those four losses to what have turned out to be lowly teams at the beginning of the season. If we played those games now you would back us to win two or three and we would be much closer to the top six than we are. All if's and but's I know.
Circumstances dictated that we had to bide our time in the market especially when we were in the Championship but I really think that with the players we have under contract for next season, both youngsters and experienced players, that if we can finish this season strongly and carry it into next we could make a strong challenge next season and I for one suspect that's what NC is thinking as well.

I think we are very fit now - one of the fittest teams in the league. At the start of the season you simply couldn’t say that. Have we had any backroom changes? Or has someone maybe grown into their job of getting us really fit?

Kyle and Boyce for me are the only 2 that would fetch cash, Kyle in summer could leave on a free, not good financially for the club. Boyce, Well £500-000 is there a profit, with another year on his contract, maybe summer is best for all. I do feel uncomfortable that we have no young central defenders.

Does sound like there are a couple of changes afoot with us expecting 2 new signings this week. one a left back to take the load off Hutchinson, which means McCrory is out of favour completely. So...
McCrory and McFadz to go?
these two seem to be outside the circle of trust at the moment. everyone else in the squad seems to be in favour.

I wonder if one of the targets was the lad who has just signed for Walsall?

It doesn't sound like much will be happening in the remaining days of the transfer window according to Nigel .I wish we could get another striker in as I think Boycie could do with some more help , if he gets injured which didn't look good this afternoon when he was down for quite a while .We are going to be in trouble .

I may have misheard him on the radio post match, I think he said it's more likely we have players going out than in???

He said there probably won't be any incomings, there may be 2 leaving us so it depends on whether they stay or go.

What does the circle of trust mean exactly?
Didn't the manager (just three days ago) entrust McCrory and Macfadzean to represent Burton Albion in one of, if not,the biggest games in its history and allow them to enjoy the experience of challenging themselves against some of the best footballers playing today....

Yeh and mcfadzean and McCory were both dropped today after playing magnificently against world class opponents and who beat us 9-0 in the first leg. An embarrassment for the whole club. Wish they both played today and in the first leg. Kyle picked up a slight hamstring strain this week. Only other possibility in my mind could be that he's signing a contract somewhere else and didn't want to risk injury. Hope this isn't the case. Guesswork

Guesswork I cant see Kyle leaving now in jan as Turner is going to be out for three weeks at least according to Garner. It might be a blessing that because Kyle is very unfortunate not to be in the side if fit and should be when fit
