I've done my job motivating the players... Dropped Ben Turner a message on everyone's favourite (Instagram) saying well done to him and the squad today and hopefully we kick on, he replied saying he hopes this is just the start .

Good to see everyone enjoying the game today. Got too mention the youngers for their great performances and having the confidence to step up. Brad was comfortable in goal, Fox was determined and worked so hard, Allen had a good game also. But what a player Hutchinson looks, full of running, confident, but what really stood out was his desire to get on the ball and drive forward. On the left with Templeton he created such an outlet for the team. I've heard a lot about young Joe who has potential, but for me Reece is the best young player I've seen for a while at Burton, he's going to be some player! COYB 👍 And you know pre season against Villa he gave them a goal (Not on his own) in the first few mins. Many others would have shrunk away, hidden and not wanted it. The lad did and had a Great game after the first 15. He is going to make mistakes, young kids do, but he seems a fast learner.

To me ben did what was needed when were 2 or 3 up. He belted and pulled his young fullbacks up the field with him. No frills no clever stuff and it broke the dons resolve. He was a big plus today as were all of them.

He has done it again. Made me look a complete idiot. NC has bought players into the club that will be able to push for promotion. Why do I doubt his capabilities. In this situation he has got to be the best in the elf. Nigel please finish the job you started at the start of the season.

Lots of positives from today. Reminded my very much of our last L1 campaign: control, chances, everyone contributing. Quinn was my MOM today - we weren't quite the same after he went off. Fraser was close second.
Anyone else notice how how after each goal there was a tight team huddle celebration. Shows how much the performance meant to them today. Hope we kick on now with a run of decent performances.

It's not nice for the fans when we're losing, I can't imagine they enjoy it much either.

Well that was the Brewers that I want to be watching.
Every single man on that pitch was excellent from start to finish and a big shout out to Hutchinson who is no doubt going to be a star but why on earth has he not been used more rather than playing Turner there which has no doubt cost us a few points.
Great performance from Collins and I hope we don’t see him leave our goal until January at the very earliest.
Feeling slightly optimistic about the season now providing Clough continues to give those players a chance rather than bring the ones straight back in that haven’t been good enough this season.
No doubt Clough has a selection headache now though which is a good thing to have of course but good luck to him because I wouldn’t like to be telling players they’ve been dropped after that performance!
Up the mighty Brewers.

COYB 👍 I know we’ve had a few come through in the past but remember when the majority of youngsters would sign a contract, go out on loan and never play a first team game for the club? Brilliant how many we’ve got involved in the squad now and it looks like we could have a few more breaking through over the next couple of years or so.

Great, sunny afternoon at the football. Fantastic result with a lot of entertaining football particularly first half. Good to see academy lads holding their own. 2400 fans fully supporting the side. Brilliant. We did ride our luck a bit, it has to be said. They hit us with 4/5 attacks at which we looked all at sea and could easily have conceded 3 ourselves. I wish Nige could find a way of getting two up front. First half there were so many dangerous balls played into the box with only Boycey attacking them. Wish Tuesday was a league game to keep a bit of momentum going.

Well what a afternoon,my stomach was churning and i feared for the worst when i read the team sheet. Akins central defence--Fox full back---Hutchinson making his debut Collins a rooki goalkeeper. Wimbledon typical tall strong physical a raw boned menace, that made us look like dwarfs. Could not help thinking we were in for a long afternoon. But our boys shown a fighting spirit some of our fans have lost,From the goalkeeper--defence-- midfield--attack to a man they stood tall fought and battled every blade of grass at the Pirelli stadium ,And made us proud, we scored 3 good goals and defended to a man, what did get through Collins dealt with. Never did we give them a glimmer of hope. they brought two more massive players on two intimidate us with route 1-football -Hanson and Jervis --but today we were not taking any prisoners..A well earned 3 points

We've seen it before, when the chips are down the players shine through it all Good to see two captains on the pitch yesterday, Boycie with the armband leading the attack and big Ben marshalling his young guns in the rear guard, excellent stuff.

No one's mentioned Jamie Allen - that was his best game for the Brewers - the ones I've seen. He kept winning headers.....how? He was my MOTM until I thought about all the other best players on our team. Our passing was beautiful at times. I mentioned Jamie Allen. You are absolutely right but (I hope this doesn't sound TOO childish) I started typing my long message before yours cropped up. By the time I'd finished, your comment was there and I didn't want to change it. Have you seen him play better than that? He was immense, wasn't he?

No it sounds just the right amount of childish 😄. He was immense but so many good performances to choose from.

I got a similar vibe to our league one promotion season and first season in the championship yesterday. From the crowd and the players. Was nice to see.
I've watched Quinns goal a few times. Best I've seen in a while at the Pirelli.

Shutting the away terrace seemed like a good move yesterday. This might happen regularly this season for teams with not particularly big supports. Makes sense as overheads are reduced, less stewards, bar staff etc.

Makes sense as overheads are reduced, less stewards, bar staff etc. It's the first time I've seen us do that... I even remember in, I think, league two (maybe one) when we played Oxford and there were only about 30-40 in that terrace, first time I've seen it empty. Wimbledon fans were good fans imo.

Makes sense as overheads are reduced, less stewards, bar staff etc. I immediately thought of anyone who was seeing their first game of the season. It looked like a friendly or a reserves match. Easy parking, a bunch of academy players and a stand closed. I really admire Wimbledon for what they've achieved and also why they had to achieve it. I'm really glad we won, though. I remember when we played Lewes in the Conference and they brought five fans. Some of our family live there - it's right on the south coast and they're a tiny club who felt the same in the Conference as we did in the Championship. EDIT: they beat our old friends Margate yesterday in front of 479.
