We have another big game this weekend.
A team, who we probably never thought we would be playing. A team who are the best in the league away from home (w7, d1, l2). They lost 2-1 to Forest (was a bit of a lively game with 2 red cards), and also only beat Rotherham 1-0... so there is some hope there.
They have a ludicrous striker by the name of Dwight Gayle. He's scored 16 (yes, sixteen) goals for them in 15 games this season...
This game, put bluntly, will probably be the toughest game we have this season.
Ultimately - a good performance is all I want to see. If we get any points then it will be a minor miracle.
I expect the lads to give it 100%, and that's all I expect.
The tiny, tiny, tiny ground may put them off a little!
Lets see how they do against Wigan tonight, if they could pick up some suspensions it would be appreciated.

I see the two players (Shelvey & Dummett) who got sent off at Forest last week , have both had their red cards resinded , so are available to play .

Dummett would have been eligible to play anyway as his ban was only a one game ban for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity.
Shelvey's was three games for violent conduct so would have been suspended had it not been over turned.

I will enjoy the game and spend most of the 90 minutes thinking "How on earth did we get here? Where are Welling Utd?"
Result? 3-0 to the Brewers. Easy. Haddaway 'n' shite.

Not sure how our online ticketing system works. Seems to be a random number available at any one time!

Anything can happen! Three weeks ago I was in Newcastle so I took the chance to see Newcastle v. Blackburn. United, top of the league, had won their last nine games and had never won ten in a row whilst Blackburn were close to bottom of the league. The match was not very good to watch and I thought neither team would worry Albion on this display. The teams cancelled each other out until towards the end, Blackburn had a corner which fell to a player who swung his foot and scored. Then Newcastle had a couple of good chances but failed to take them. United had one or two lively forwards who would need careful marking on Saturday. They will expect to win tomorrow but will be surprised at Albions ability. COYB

I've got big match excitement this morning, feels like FA Cup 3rd round day when I was a kid!
What a day ahead, atmosphere could be superb. Rafa Benitez and the Toon Army at the Pirelli for a league match, you couldn't write the script!

I've written this a few times over the last seven or eight seasons but: "Does it get any better than this?" It always has done, though hasn't it? Strap yourselves in...

What do we expect from playing Newcastle in the league? As long as we don't get thrashed it doesn't really matter, a good game in which we are competitive will do nicely. There should be a lot of pride amongst everyone involved in the running of BAFC today as this is the day when you can shout out to the world "WE HAVE MADE IT" COYB

The fact I'm disappointed with the result, says a lot about how we played.
Newcastle coasted the second half. Ultimately, we've just lost, marginally, to a team worth £100m.
Time to finish our chances against the next £100m+ team!
