Nothing to do with a toy fair taking place was it, how tinpot would that be if true !

Just thought I'd give some pre-game thoughts from a Coventry perspective...
Yes it's true we don't really want to play you on Sunday, we have star striker Adam Armstrong out with the England u19s, midfielder Bryn Morris off with the u20s, and George Thomas with Wales u19s. Tony Mowbray tried to get the game postponed, but Armstrong and Morris are youth loans so don't count towards the three needed to get a game called off. We've generally been deploying a 4-2-3-1 formation this season, with the front 4 changing positions frequently. It mainly revolved around playmaker James Maddison, who was huge in our 4-0 win at Millwall, but he is out until the new year with an ankle injury.
Players to watch are Reda Johnson, who is erratic at times but hugely dominant aerially; John Fleck, one of the most composed passers of a ball I've seen at this level; and Jim O'Brien, who is hugely committed to the cause, although he missed a penalty on Monday (we've scored just 1 of our last 6 penalties). We will also have to utilise striker Marcus Tudgay in place of Armstrong, which tends to make us play a little more direct. We also acquired the services of legendary striker Lateef Elford-Alliyu on deadline day, whose last spell in England brought a stunning return of 2 goals in 11 games for Tamworth.
Good luck for the season, but go easy on Sunday please.

Is this bloke Ukrainian Phil in disguise?
Members of the old forum will remember him. A proper wind up merchant.

He just seemed to disappear after a long time of banter on the old forum, but he was ok really Nice to see that fans of historically bigger clubs take the time to come on here and slum it with us ex non-league types.

Mr Howden, aka Ukrainian Phil, is, or certainly was involved in the media department at York City up to last season. I think he is involved in the matchday video coverage of his beloved Minstermen who now seem to be closer to that lowest common denominator of 2,000 home fans than they were at the time we were in the Conference!
He must be out of his mind seeing little old Burton Albion up in League One whilst his side sit in the lower reaches of League 2 and possibly in a dogfight to avoid going back to the Conference and inhabiting the old Confguide. ha ha ha.
