I listened on the radio to this one. Sounded scrappy and we didn't play well.
Sign of a good team if you can win away playing poorly.
12 points from 15
That's a pretty incredible start to the season
The momentum continues

On the whole we were poor. I suspect jimmy will come out and say that too.
They hit the framework 3x and were unlucky not to score. Having said that they had few to no clear cut chances.
Burton didn't attack much, one timmy should have buried one in the first half but didn't.
The subs of binnom Williams and joachim made a big difference.
Unfortunately El khayati was poor today...!

We didn't really deserve the three points. A classic smash and grab. However, even when we are not fully firing as a team, we remain very difficult to score against. That was the case today, very sound defence and bringing on Binnom-Williams was a masterstroke. He made the goal with some fine play along the goal touch line, to deliver a superb ball inviting anyone near to stroke it home. Fantastic 3 points. A decent away following of 442 as well.

S.c.sherriff is amazing. Jimmy was talking of resting him in the week but he turned out again today. The bloke must be very fit and is truly dedicated to the team. Well done Shane lad. You set a fine example to the young'ens .

Poor performance and a dire game, defence gave nothing away and its 3 more points to the total. We will play much better and lose this season. Bring on the Sky Blues !

I think that about hits the nail on the head. Strong in defence away from home. I didn't rate Slopbury much to be honest, although a draw would indeed have been a fairer result. Still, 3rd in league one, Derby lose and our friends in Bournemouth above Chelsea in the Premiership, so a great day. Unfortunately, Gresley managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory in the FA Cup, but you can't have everything can you?

Yes it was a smash and grab job but last year that was how Shrewsbury beat us., so I am not too guilty about it...
A couple of interesting stats for you. We have more points than the rest of the newly promoted teams combined. We are only seven, oops it is eight but who cares.. league places below Derby County! (borrowed from a friend of a friend's Fb)
...we are third in the League, yes we are third in the league... Let's just enjoy it....

You set a fine example to the young'ens . I thought he was superb today. He's copped a fair bit of stick recently but him and Mousinho really turned up in a game that was short on "big" performances. Even though we were second best for very large parts of the game, I can't think off the top of my head any moments where McLaughlin was really tested. Ok, they gave the woodwork a bit of a going over at the end of the first half but apart from that I'm struggling. Bottom line is we had the best chance of the game and took it. JBW continues to impress me and it was his determination and quality that produced that one moment of magic. I have to admit I'm not Duffy's biggest fan but to be fair to the lad he was in the right place at the right time and won the game for us. We're third in league one. Absolutely barmy!

We can't complain at all. We should be struggling but thus far we are excelling.
Enjoyed my first away day... Though I would have said something completely different if we hadn't scored in the last minute!

We weren't as good as we can be today but didn't think we were as bad as some have made out. Sign of a good team when you can not be at your best and still win.
Agree about how good Shane was today. My MoM today. I actually think he has been playing well this season although should have dealt with the ball at Barnsley rather than shepherd it out. Today our who.e back four were on it and apart from a couple of speculative long range shots hitting the woodwork Jon McLaughlin had little to do on the whole.
Sets things up nicely for next weekend against Coventry.

I'm still chuckling to myself about us winning that I will say that those highlights have missed the only genuine save that I can remember which was when Thiele was put through and forced their keeper into a save in the first half. I do like Thiele. He don't half work hard. I'll also say I expected a hell of a lot more from James Collins. He looked a shadow of his former self.

BBC Stats (home/away) Possession 54/46 Shots 14/5 On target 1/3 I agree with Jimmy that we had the better (two) chances... I like Timmy beavon and Joachim! Tough choice for Jimmy vs Coventry. Imo we have 17ish players fighting for a start, who can all do the job. I'd suggest we play one up top vs Cov with JBW over Nasser (sorry Nasser...). As we need defensive presence.

Reflecting back on the game yesterday I think you have to give the management credit for the substitutions, Naylor got a foothold in midfield where Butcher had not, Binom Williams got at the full back where El Khayati had not and Joachim gave us a different presence up front which perhaps suited the style of yesterdays game. All in all stemmed what bit of pressure was coming from the Shrews and turned the game. Salop didn't look as good a side as they were last season and I feel they may struggle this season as they seem to lack craft and guile in the final third.

Yet again we looked a lot better with Naylor on the field. Early days but one of the best signings we've made in my opinion!!
