Well, I can only say to some " walk in others shoes" before deciding. What if it were you being wrongly accused of calling someone a "I've just used a rather silly word & been auto-edited"?
Anyway, with Ian's help with his last post I was able to figure out what he was bleating about, and here it is. Don't read this if you don't want to but it explains everything! I don't think I'll be getting an apology but let's put it to rest!

Ian, Thanks for providing the FB thread where "I" accused you of censored.word??? Right, so it's all Colstons fault is it? With you help I was able to find the thread on FB and here it is (minus your comments which I do not see, because I got so fed up with your insults and childishness that I blocked you)....

One thing I would like to see next season..... Is a new P.A system. I can't understand anything the announcer says at the Pirelli each game. Anyone else have this trouble, or is it just me?

Tom Pratt It's a shame, maybe the maestro himself, Ian Hawkins can have a word? Is there another fan engagement session lined up?

Ron Bastin During the presentation day the Popside could not hear a thing from JFH or Ben and it was like that for the rest of the day. When I walked round to the seats the sound was perfect. Looking up at the speakers in the stand they are undoubtably of a higher quality. I was told, by young Ben at the end of the 2013/14 season they had wiring problems but it would be fixed. As last season went on the speakers went from bad to worst. Come on Chairman Ben give the fans in the Popside and I believe also behind the home end the same quality of sound, whether it's down to wiring faults, poor quality speakers, or amplifier problems.

Shaun Sanders I reported this Ron , after the playoff game versus Southend lol ... I was basically told I was wrong and there was no problem

Ron Bastin If people agree with the content of my last post 'like' the post, if there are enough of you hopefully the club will do something about the problem.

Dan Tunks I've sat in the seats a few times and it's been a little bit clearer but the person I go along with, our usual spot for many years has been in the west stand behind the goal and it's very muffled.

Leonie Ashenden I don't believe the club read these posts.( I hope I am wrong) so maybe people should approach them as they might think it is just the odd one or two moaning

Ron Bastin I appreciate that none of the club management frequent either behind the home end or the Popside so they won't know what the problem is. I would happily explain what the problem is ( not the technical bits ) they know how to contact me?

Ron Bastin Ian, will you report back to let us know if the club are going to put things right. For your info, on the presentation day the speakers were ok when music was playing. It was when the microphone came into play that it became impossible to make out what was said. Could it be a feed problem.

Nigel Mason and in the west stand Ian when a lot are in it we struggle to hear, not bad around 2.30 though!

Adam Drew Could hear it well behind the goal at the trophy presentation. Must just be the popside.
Although when there is plenty of noise from the Burton Boys it drowns out anything from the speakers.
Not complaining about our fantastic support haha

Shaun Sanders Ian Hawkins we are talking about the Pirelli stadium not old Trafford !!!! If we get a big crowd (4000) then the speakers don't work?
That's pretty poor really

Colston Crawford I know it's an issue that needs sorting but on a lighter note, Ian Hawkins accused of never being loud enough, now there's something I thought I'd never read, Steve Johnson!

Herb Croken I have told Ian at least a dozen times over the past 16 months That the speakers on the Popside do not work. Every now and then they work for half a game or so. Fact!

Adrian Woods It's all about budget they have spent £30,000 on the floodlights now the pitch being relaid have to see what's left in the pot to do a decent job of the sound system.

Derek Eaton Popside does not work and last time I was in the away end for the kids day that was even worse - surprised visiting fans have not complained - surely it's a safety issue if your tannoy system cannot be heard?

Herb Croken ££ is a concern, but on the Popside we couldn't hear the announcement for the minute silence for Lydia , we couldn't hear the players walkout announced at the Trophy presentation. We couldn't hear announcements during the match live on Sky so didn't know when to clap etc. these embarrassing moments cost the club in other ways! Just sort it out!

Michael Vardy If it was an isolated incident then fair enough but they seem to trip out every other game. Not exactly sure what would cause it to do that, however it does seem to be volume related.

Robert Cudworth I couldn't give a monkeys if the tannoy is working or not if I'm honest! If I want to see the team I'll read it on the scoreboard and I'll clap when we score!!
May 12 at 9:24pm · Like · 1
Herb Croken And add to this we couldn't hear the announcement for the applause for Nobby and were wondering why people were clapping, and we didn't hear the announcement at the last home game last May that the players would come back out for a lap of honour, so they came out to an almost empty ground. These things are worth it Whatever the cost.

Steve Lawton Robin the problem with the music is that it is always the same songs being played in the same order so it gets a little repetitive to be honest.

Colston Crawford Herb, I have agreed with you on most stuff of late.
But if you're saying it's not being reported, you're calling Ian a "I've just used a rather silly word & been auto-edited", because he says he reported it. "Me -(didn't some people say the holocaust never happened?)" I know Ian pretty well. Like the rest of us, he isn't perfect, but he ain't a "I've just used a rather silly word & been auto-edited" and he works bloody hard for this club for minimal reward and has done for ages.
We know there's a problem. But it isn't Ian's fault. He just reads the stuff out. I hope the club sorts it.

However Ian, during this thread above (because I don't see your posts on FB I didn't know what you were referring to (about me accusing you of censored.word) until now) a friend sent me your comments in a message, and here they are.
Ian Hawkins Pretty sure it was reported after the celebration event but will mention it again.

Ian Hawkins Ron Bastin I know that when I go out into the middle of the pitch then the reception from the transmiiter box to the microphone tends to sometimes become intermittent and cut out. I was obviously closer to the main stand at the presentation and I could hear everything that Ben and Jimmy said so it must be something to do with those actual speakers on the Popside.

Ian Hawkins I think Nigel Mason that is something to do with the acoustics generated and how they get dampened down when there are a lot of people in. I am no expert on this by any means but it is difficult for it to be tested while there is a crowd in so it tends to sound fine when there is nobody in. I have walked round before games to test it and it is ok. A big crowd and parts seemingly are inaudible.
