Only 48 for me, so far Similar for me as Porky says further down the thread, I was 6 when my Dad first took me and I was probably more interested in the pop and sweets at half time! But I have stuck with it, on and off in younger years when girls and working away took priority, now though I can't wait until match days' and hope to be going for many more years. P.S this thread is not just for us old timers, it would be nice to read some posts saying last season was my 1st etc.

I should add that I am really delighted to see many younger supporters joining our ranks and that they are happy to wear the club shirt around the town. Its also great to see the loyalty of the older supporters. I'm including you in the 2nd department funky !

Can't remember much about it apart from playing in the pile of sand though !!

The early 1950s for me watching the bigger games, like Nuneaton Borough at Bank Holiday times, standing on the banking behind the goal at the Wellington Road end. At the railway end behind the supporters, there would always be a loco engine (steam of course), stationary behind the far goal, with railway staff, (driver, firemen etc.), watching the game for free.

Ironically I was dragged to Eton Park by a lad who isn't interested anymore. Cloughie was a big reason for going but my mate told me Burton had this cracking striker called Christian Moore who I had to come and watch. It was the promotion season where we steamrollered most teams but the game where I remember knowing I was hooked was the trophy replay against Farnborough I think. I bought my first shirt at that game...the blue BI Industries top. It just sticks out as the first of many special cup nights for the Brewers that I've experienced. The worst I've known is a few scrapes with relegation so I don't think I've known the hard times that a lot of you lads have!

It was 1965/66 season for me - a great team with Barker and Round plundering goals for fun. 1s and 6d to get in for kids and sixpence for the programme (only just up from threpence). What a reward having my 50th season in the Football League and League 1 too - unbelievable!! Thanks largely to Ben Robinson in my eyes.

Great stuff mikeyboy, can you remember programmes going up from a tanner to a bob ? Could my 50th season be in the Championship ?

I remember the racy new look I think and still have them all upstairs.

I think 74/5 season was the first time we used glossy paper and a more professional approach although the cover photograph of Peter Shone heading a ball over Shobnall fields was dreadful. I had virtually every programme home and away from the first game against Gloucester City up to the mid 80's I would guess but donated them to the club shop to raise funds for the club. Have hardly bought a programme since ! Regret it sometimes but it was all in the Albion cause and I'm sure by doing what I did the majority of them found good homes with fellow Albion fans.

From the 'traditional' 60's design (or not), we had a photocopied yellow and black design with what looked like a photo of Bobby Moncur on it? It might have been slightly earlier than 1970.
