Edit or have any more come and gone yet?

Looks to me like this is being carefully choreographed. Newcastle still want McLaren, McLaren wants to go but backed himself into a corner a bit with what he said post the Reading game. Rams are fed up of Mc's head being turned. They want rid but want the wedge in compo. So they have a meeting, announce nowt, don't sack him but force Newcastle's hand. Mike Ashley signs the cheque, job done…
McLaren can go saying Derby got rid and therefore he wasn't censored.word when he said he wanted to see the job done, Derby can move on saying McLaren in the end wanted to go to Newcastle, but also they have a better man long term in Clement. Derby get wedged, McLaren gets wedged as he is back in the Premier League down the road from his house = everyone happy.
And who cares on a Brewers Forum?

Or what I said is bunkum if you believe BBC's Pat Murphy…
"Steve McClaren is not on the brink of being sacked today by Derby County.
"He had a two-hour meeting last night with the club's chief executive Sam Rush - described as positive and open. But McClaren's rumoured departure was not discussed.
"I understand it was spelt out to the head coach that there will be tough discussions ahead after Derby's promotion charge faded away - but a parting of the ways or any compensation was not on the agenda.
"Rush and McClaren have an excellent working relationship and the head coach still has two years left on his contract."

Perhaps it'll go on ex-players if they look to take Rowett & co from the financial maelstrom of Birmingham City.

Not sure why this topic is on this forum, surely burton fans would have no interest on what happens at derby ?

I would of thought there is some form of interest given the link between both our managers but prob should be in another area?

Not much to discuss at moment
I find it interesting myself just because it's local
And jfh seems to have a decent relationship with Mclaren which could be useful if he ends up staying
Independent had said he had left already

It's probably still Nigel Clough's fault.

Yeah, there is a direct connection between us and Derby, managers, players, and it adds a little bit of interest being a local story. The worse off Derby are reflects better on us and could bring in a few converts. Whenever Derby supporters turnout at the Pirelli the atmosphers/noise level increases so I would welcome a few of them. Probably could be under Football Matters but hey-oh.

I think it is of interest to us to be honest. Whether we like it or not how the sheep perform affects us on the attendance front. This is due to a large section of their fan base coming from Burton, South Derbyshire and surrounding areas. I have made no secret of the fact that I dislike them for many and varied reasons which are not important here. Personally a disastrous season for them at the wrong end of the table is good news for us in my opinion. My views may not be popular but at least I'm honest about how I feel.

I didn't realise you weren't allowed to discuss other clubs on this forum.
Of course it affects Burton. Tom Naylor hasn't done badly has he?? Mclaren would have been involved in that deal.
Anyway excuse me I'm off to wish Hibs eternal damnation in the 2nd tier of Scottish football on another forum.

I sincerely hope McClaren stays at Direby as them completely capitulating and ballsing up a play off spot on the same day as we won the league two title was such a wonderful gift to behold.
If Carlsberg did final days of the season...

I can't see how McLaren can possibly stay at Derby now. Surely it's all about severance. Derby would look very stupid to pay anything like a full severance, then watch McLaren sign next week for Newcastle, who have been the thorn that created the crisis. Just my opinion of course, I could be miles away with my view.
