All great money earners for the club
Ironically Benfica might even get the lowest crowd without the away fans

I have merged the two top posts into one thread as they both related to the pre season fixtures....

Oh well, it is a great opportunity for them. We'll get some sort of compensation from them and hopefully bring in another good side? Jimmy can work one of his mates for a game I'm sure.

Is it me but why would we be up for compensation at this stage? Even if some payment was to be made it would surely be absolutely minimal...
edit:- Should have read the statement but am trying to re jig the forum....

They had signed a contract to play the match (there are others as well, Derby, FC United) so there will be compensation. In the article it says Ben will negotiate a settlement.

My understanding is that a contract was signed by both sides including clauses relating to cancellation and compensation in the event that either side cancelled.

This could work in our favour then.I'm sure Ben will come up with a satisfactory solution and I bet we end up with a decent replacement who will bring plenty of fans. Forest would be a good one.

Maybe Jimmy will be inviting a few Dutch players along to the training camp and Burton Albion FC ?
