Announcement doesn't mention season ticket holders - which these sort of announcements usually do. Does anyone know if we just go through turnstiles as usual or if we have to get a ticket with one of our vouchers?

Does anyone know if we just go through turnstiles as usual or if we have to get a ticket with one of our vouchers? Should be no need to get an additional ticket. Our ticket is already in our season ticket book, so turnstiles as usual.

Northampton ticket purchased, little Billy Brewer is in the front window upsetting local Luton fans, and play-off dates scrubbed from the calendar. Does life get any better?

Our capacity is 6,912 our average league attendance is 3,329. For what it's worth the average attendance in League One last season was 6,971 Obviously that's influenced by bigger clubs I think with extra away fans we could easily average over 4000 next season which is great progress for the club I've been holding back this article until we were guaranteed promotion . We don't yet know for certainty we are promoted or what the exact make up will be of League 1 next season. However we can make an educated guess. Wigan and Millwall look very likely to join Blackpool in being relegated from the championship, the relegation battle from League 1 though is incredibly tight, Yeovil are down but only 7 points separate Colchester in 23rd place and Walsall in 15th place. Obviously from our perspective travel wise the less Southern sides that stay up the better. Bearing all that in mind I have come up with a likely composition for league 1 based on my predictions. The following list includes average away followings where available. Barnsley 1089, Bradford City 973, Chesterfield 809, Coventry City 940, Doncaster Rovers 707, Fleetwood Town 229, Gillingham 380, Leyton Orient 465, Notts County 600 est, Oldham Athletic 746, Peterborough United 741, Port Vale 677, Rochdale 439, Scunthorpe 380, Sheffield United 1,589, Swindon Town 800 est, Walsall 387, Wigan Athletic, Blackpool, Millwall, Shrewsbury, Wycombe, Bury I have no figures for. Looking at those figures, taking into account the close proximity and 1st ever visits for many of the clubs I would expect the figures to be higher when they visit the Pirelli Stadium. Quite a bit of guess work involved but as a rough guide I think we could look forward to something like the following away followings. Barnsley 1,500, Bradford City 1000, Chesterfield 1,800, Coventry City 1,800, Doncaster Rovers 1,000, Fleetwood Town 250, Gillingham 350, Leyton Orient 500, Notts County 1,000, Oldham Athletic 1,000, Peterborough United 1,000, Port Vale 1,800, Rochdale 500, Scunthorpe 500, Sheffield United 1,800, Swindon Town 700, Walsall 1,000, Wigan Athletic 600, Millwall 700, Shrewsbury Town 1,500, Wycombe Wanderers 500, Bury 500. Obviously this doesn't take into account how clubs are performing which could alter the figures drastically, on the whole I have under estimated I think. Looking at that we could see some very good attendances with quite a few over 4,000 and some into the 5,000 range, very few under 3,000 I would hope. It would be nice to think the home support will increase slightly. All in all more fans through the gates which hopefully goes some way to offset the increased wages and costs we will encounter in League 1. I am sure Ben will have it all studied in much greater detail than I have.

Not much BDS..not much.
Have a little read of the Luton forum though, that might make you laugh a little too.
Apparently they wouldn't want to watch football like that every week and they can see how we've made it to the top by showing no flair whatsoever and simply stifling teams with a boring brand of football. Oh and the goal was offside (it wasn't) and we were time wasting all through the game apparently too?
Interesting then that we had 54% possession, 14 shots to their 9, 6 on target to their 0, 4 corners to their 2, in fact they did win on one stat..10 fouls to our 8, so we were dirty Northern B######s, who came for a point!
And while we're on it, that must be the biggest non-league ground in the country? No worries over sunburn, with a roof that must be all of 12 feet off the ground and seats that were even too small for my kids. Still, nice of mumber 87 Oak Road to let me have a pee in in their back kitchen!
And they call us tinpot?
Well I'll take boring seasons like this every year please and look forward to being bored through the next four games, all the way to League One!

When I was looking at average attendances it showed that last year Burtons average away attendance was 251
It sounds like that has gone up as well

In terms of costs that will go up in League 1
I'm guessing it's mainly wages
Which I know we will be careful with. I imagine we will have one of lowest wagebills in the League.
At some stage we could really do with selling a young player for big money to allow us to re-invest in the squad.
This upsets fans of other clubs when it happens but to me it's an opportunity to strengthen
Someone maybe paying 1m for Palmer now would be a godsend. Maybe even loan him back for the season.
Something like that could fund what we need to add either on free transfers with wages covered or the odd smaller fee
As mentioned before I believe TV money in League One goes up a lot season after next which will allow us more opportunities to build this club if we can consolidate in League One etc
Anyone got any more detail on that?

We have sold two players this year and Ben has said in an interview we have pushed the boat out a little. I suspect we will have to continue to sell players who are approaching the end of their contracts.

Thanks observer, I did have a look at those and based some of my estimates for next season on them. League 1 holds no fears for me, Fleetwood, Rochdale and Chesterfield as previously stated have coped well and I think Scunthorpe will stay up too. There are only a few clubs of much bigger stature than ourselves and we can compete we the rest.

since Millers won the game it will probably be 3-points dropped and a fine... Where any team plays an unregistered or otherwise ineligible player or players, The FA Centres of Excellence Sub-Committee may impose any punishment or order it considers appropriate, including (but not limited to) deducting any points won in any league match a! ected, awarding league points to the opposing team, expelling the team from a cup competition if any match a! ected was played in that cup competition, allowing the opposing team to progress to the next round of that cup competition, ordering any match to be replayed, and / or imposing a fine.

ah damn, since Milwall won the game it will probably e just a fine... I think you may be confusing with the fine Blackpool got when they played an ineligible player in a game against Millwall that Millwall won. The Millers did beat Brighton apparently. I reckon they will lose the 3 points.

yes I did (and edited), Rotherham will lose 3 points and perhaps be fined (Blackpool were fined £30K) and Brighton will get the 3 points.

I'm pretty sure Brighton will not get the points. Never seen any occurrence of that in the past.

Where any team plays an unregistered or otherwise ineligible player or players, The FA Centres of Excellence Sub-Committee may impose any punishment or order it considers appropriate, including (but not limited to) deducting any points won in any league match affected, awarding league points to the opposing team, expelling the team from a cup competition if any match a! ected was played in that cup competition, allowing the opposing team to progress to the next round of that cup competition, ordering any match to be replayed, and / or imposing a fine.
If the points are deducted from Rotherham, and they should be, then the match was basically not played from Brightons perspective and Brighton have a right to play 46 matches not 45. Since Rotherham are the guilty party they have played their 46. It's a tricky one.
