Always good to have more cover, and from a Prem side! Stewart is probably cover for Phil as Maynard seems to be taking longer than expected to recover. Or he could use him to give Damo a break. Dunn can score at this level and if Blyth/MAC/Cuvelier are not ready assume he will be on the bench Monday. Great work Jimmy!

Well Jimmy certainly has plenty of options available to him now ! Both these lads did well at Cheltenham in the early part of the season prior to picking up injuries. Which one's hamstring will go first I wonder ? Only joking ! Good to see we have plenty of strength in depth going into these vital last 8 games.

On another angle, having listened to a couple of interviews with them I am sure Phil Edwards will understand them, proper scouse accents !

And now Denny Johnstone (striker) in on loan from Birmingham. How many loan players do we now have?
Jimmy Philips out on loan at Alfreton.

I wonder if these loan signings indicate that some of our injured players may be a bit more serious than first feared ? Calum Reilly I see has gone back to Blues. How many loan players do we have ? I think we have 6, Shearer, Stewart, Naylor, Cuvelier , Blyth, Johnstone and Dunn on a youth loan. Is that correct ?

JFH has certainly been a busy lad today. Hopefully these loanees will give us an even better chance of promotion.
Just goes to show, he doesn't sit on his laurels!

That looks right tm, Add to these Lenny, Morris, Weale, Reilly, there was another keeper, and I'm sure there were one or two more? We have certainly made use of the loan market. We can only dress 5 so I assume Blyth and Cuvelier are not ready?

There is a good article in today's mail titled "Albion can call shots as title race hots up", comparing all top teams final run-in. But I can't find it online. I think Newport have the easiest run but we're not that bad. If we win on Monday then by April 1st, as I said in Feb. , we will have a good enough cushion to get us promoted. Articles on the new signings. BURTON Albion have signed another loan player as striker Denny Johnstone arrives from Birmingham City until the end of the season. The 20-year-old former Celtic prospect had a spell on loan with Cheltenham last month, scoring once in five games. Dunn, 20, netted three goals in five appearances for Cheltenham during a month's loan at Whaddon Road in January. Stewart, 21, also went on loan to the Robins in January and netted once in four appearances. Having a hard time finding recent info, since late Jan-early Feb, on any of these 3 new signings. makes me think these are "in case" signings in the event of further injuries for our players, and perhaps on frees to give them some training with Jimmy/St. George's Park? I can't see where any of them have played in 6-8 weeks? Anyone find better info?

I hope they are in case signings as no need to rock the applecart at the moment IMO

I'm also assuming we aren't paying much of their wages and have sold their clubs the idea we can give them matchday experience

Finally any lads that impress whilst on loan we could consider doing a season long loan next season so it let's us take a close look without committing

I had a look on "The Robins nest", Cheltenham Town's fans forum. They were raving about Jack Dunn earlier this season and also commenting about his signing for Albion, some one stated he would score a hatful with our team. Further to your observations Observer I note that both Dunn and Kevin Stewart(who was at Tottenham previously) are out of contract in the summer. Denny Johnstone has replaced Calum O'Reilly who has returned to Blues with a grade 2 tear to his hamstring. Johnstone has a 2 year contract having been signed from Celtic. All 3 look likely to be in the squad for Monday's game with Stevenage. No idea how much action they will get but good for us to have plenty of cover during the run in. Of the 3 I expect Dunn to see most time on the pitch. I have great faith that JFH and David Oldfield know and understand what is required to get us over the line, I suspect privately they are aiming for the title.

I'm sure JFH will already be looking to strengthen the squad for next season.
What better way (certainly with the 2 Liverpool lads)to see how young players soon to be out of contract, train and fit in with the existing squad.
Could give us first dabs on players if they get released by their parent club(s) at the end of the season

Looks like Liverpool know they are releasing them then and want to give them a chance to find another club
It will be likely that Liverpool contacted clubs with availability of their players in this way
Notts County have also taken two young Liverpool lads on loan as well yesterday
They will know how to keep the ball and pass
