Courtesy of Facebook... www.kozakkenboys.nl/nieuws/16729/nasser-el-khayati-direct-weg.htmlAnd courtesy go google translate... Nasser el Khayati immediate way 01/26/2015 Nasser el Khayati leave immediately Cossacks Boys. Nasser has signed a contract with Burton Albion FC ( Brewers ), the club of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink , Burton comes out in the League Two, the fourth level in England. Nasser had early this week to provide certainty for Burton , hence all momentum has ended and therefore it is no longer usable for Cossacks Boys. We are a club Nasser this transfer is not in the way and wish him much success from this place upon his adventure in England. Reading had him on trial apparently last April

Well done funky, good find that ! Another one of Jimmy's Dutch finds, have had a look at the stuff on YT probably the same as yourself, hard to judge the standards as usual but the lad looks like he can play. I notice he started his career with PSV Eindhoven and has been with NAC Breda, Den Bocsh and Olympiakos Nicosia prior to joining Kozakken boys. He had a trial at Reading last April as you note. He has dual Dutch/Moroccan nationality. Looks like he will have to build himself up to cope with the rigours of the English game so I reckon my son who trains at the same gym can look forward to seeing him with Stefan Maletic and Kelvin Maynard.

Taking no credit for the find Terraceman, it was on the Burton Albion Facebook page. Not too interested in the youTube vides, as I have mentioned before I am sure Sam Shilton could put out a good highlights reel...

Cheers funky, I think I have mentioned before I don't partake in facebook or twitter so I am grateful for the post. I totally understand what you are saying about the YT clips, from my point of view I just like to have some idea of who it is we are signing.

I will probably have a look at some stage. Some people seem to make their minds up though judging by what they post having viewed...

about the YT clips, from my point of view I just like to have some idea of who it is we are signing. Exactly, and posting a highlight video is just that as well as sharing that info with others. Nothing more, regardless of how someone chooses to interpret it.

I think his trial with Reading was as recently as December actually reading the Berkshire press reports.
Had a quick look at the YT clip. Some of the bits he looks useful, some of the bits I am not sure why they have been included. I suspect that Jimmy will have had him over to train, as he did with Stefan, so will have seen him at close quarters before making any decision to sign him. Perhaps he played for the reserves yesterday as a triallist, I dont know.

Hard to come into League 2 at this stage of the season and make an impact IMO
But you never know
Too many foreign signings that come to UK are inconsistent
I feel we need solid reliable players to see us through to end of season promotion myself
We've got players like Harness who can add a bit of flair and gamble etc
But let's see

Like Maynard and Maletic he will need to get into L2 mode and game shape I should think (but I'm not saying I know that for a fact ). I'll put my trust in Jimmy, he hasn't put a foot wrong yet.

This is a concern for me , bringing in players from the continent , can they adapt to League 2 ? It's a different style of football to what they are used too . Maynard has not impressed so far , Malatic has disappeared , where was he Saturday and Monday (Reserves). I hope they turn out to be brilliant players and this other lad if he is signing .

I think I heard Maletic had picked up a minor injury, so was not in the squad. Maynard has a good interview in today's paper. He says the amount of fitness to cover the extra running and work rate in league 2 is the problem he is coming to terms with. He seems to relish the challenge and is doing extra running sessions. Those of us who have seen him can see his attacking ability when on the ball, but also notice he is not yet doing all the defending required. I hope he can get there and feel he will. I think this problem will as you say be the case with foreign players coming to us. I just trust JFH.

Maletic has a groin or hamstring injury at present and I've been quite impressed with Maynard, he has intelligence on the pitch and you can see he has ability which we will see more of as he gets up to full speed with the pace required in league2. I know both players have been doing extra training at my sons gym. All foreign players at whatever level have to come to terms with the differences physically in our game. Most of them achieve those standards and I've no reason to think any differently as regards our players.

Yeah, imagine if we brought in some Canadian football players like the likes of David Edgar – Newcastle United, Burnley – 2006–10 Craig Forrest – Ipswich Town, Chelsea, West Ham United – 1992–95, 1996–2001 Junior Hoilett – Blackburn Rovers, Queens Park Rangers – 2009–13, 2014– Simeon Jackson – Norwich City – 2011–13[Note 11] Tomasz Radzinski – Everton, Fulham – 2001–07[Note 12] Paul Stalteri – Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham – 2005–08 Frank Yallop – Ipswich Town – 1 And who could imagine Owen Hargreaves ever playing in this special league! (Surely he wasn't the player voted by the ENGLAND fans as the Player of the Tournament for ENGLAND In the 2006 World Cup - WHAT? ?? A CANADIAN?? .Player of the World Cup for ENGLAND!!!!!!). OMG These foreigners are absolutely useless! Read more: burtonbrewers.proboards.com/thread/1550/nasser-el-khayati?page=2#ixzz3Q4eDS6F2

I think by 'the continent' he means Europe, not North America. I don't understand your point there peacock. with the exception of Radzinski, the others have been reasonably solid Football League players, who have struggled in the Premier League. Is this new bloke Canadian then?
Edit: Sorry missed off Hargreaves, I don't think any Brewers fans would have doubts about us signing a bloke who had played Champions League for Bayern Munich.
