It was two yellows according to sky
Is that a one match ban?
Won't do him any harm to have a week off whilst he's getting fully fit
7 minutes of injury time we had to survive - and that's with only one goal scored in second half

I was surprised we scored 4, but I wasn't surprised that the team came out and got what is a great victory. They are a resilient bunch, everything you hear from those associated or close to the team tells you that. They are also very talented. I heard the Rowett interview pre game and was completely assured that they were steely and determined and wanted to put right what had gone wrong on Saturday . Some great efforts tonight (on the face of it as I was not there). McCrory more or less a full game after such a long layoff, Bell a full game after such a long layoff (oh and they both scored screamers apparently).
I look forward to the first hand reports from the guys and gals that went tonight

Couldn't agree more regarding Beavon, what was he thinking, it reminded me of Ryan doing the same thing against Gillingham. Anyone could have seen from his earlier behaviour that he was not the type to let that go. The home crowd were baying and Beavon was unprofessional. I don't think that we made any new friends on our visit . the radio had described us as team that punches above our weight and certainly the fans after the match seemed to think that our goals had been gifted to us by them. Having said that what goals , I am looking forward to seeing the highlights. Yes the wind must have blown the ball around in mid air but it was a delight to see us shooting from relative distance and not through a crowded penalty box. Many of us there kept harking back to the Cheltenham game and the thought of the drive home after throwing away a win made the last minutes dddrrraaaaggg but it was a marvellous three points in the end and the drive back did not seem all that bad... But with regards to letting three in, I would not be too concerned as the goals tonight were very much wind assisted, so much so that I felt that anything could go in. The ball moved a lot in the swirling and very cold conditions. It was always going to be a nightmare for the keepers.

We're one of the dirtiest teams they've ever seen at Brunton Park according to a Carlisle fan on another message board. " Violence, thuggery and cheating" apparently.
Marvellous. Lovely stuff. Glad to see people still get upset about losing to little old Burton Albion.

A very timely 3 points indeed and pleasd there was great entertainment for the travelling faithful...well done we could hear you on Radio Derby.
However...the negatives...Beavons second booking totally avoidable and should know better. Three goals against yet again...not a good sign. More injuries...so what sort of team do we put out at Stevenage on Saturday?
We just need to be a bit more professional and avoid the flying tackles like the one that got MacDonald suspended, stop chatting to the refs as we know they're all crap at this level and sort out the calamitous defending that is costing us so dearly.
Clean sheet first please on Saturday and anything more will be a bonus!

Dirtiest team? guess they haven't seen Mansfield or Cambridge yet... Going into Sat. game we know Moose, Beavon, Macca and Taft will be missing. Callum won't be back for another month at least so looks like Damo has a full time job again and Jimmy is a few weeks away.
Backs - Phil, Sharps, Sherriff, Damo (Lenihan) Mids - Akins, Gurks, Robbie, Matty, Belly, Harness, Lenihan Fwds - Blyth, Knowles (Gurks)
Fairly sure it will be a 4-5-1 at Stevenage.

Lots to admire there, along with a few mistakes. Was watching on my phone and wondered which midfielder made the surging run and great pass for Blyth's goal. I think though it was Beavon, is that right? That was the goal of the night for me, although also impressed with the run and shot by Bell. McCrory, not a bad first touch... :-)

Right then. Some selected quotes from that board to go along with the "violence and thuggery" comment I saw last night - "bully boys of the league so far"..."horrible team, cheated their way to 3 points"..."niggly and sly from the off" In the words of Jules Winfield (look it up), allow me to retort...when in the name of arse did football become a game for shrinking violets? Among the many things that the current management have done for Burton Albion, they fixed the one thing that irritated the hell out of me when Pesch was in charge - we were a horrifically soft touch. We're not anymore. We're a bloody horrible team to play against and to be honest I absolutely love the fact that teams don't like playing against us. We do, of course, all love to see some free flowing football from time to time and a bit of the old "tiki taka" or whatever you call it but from a personal point of view, I remember a time when football had an edge. I'm not talking about off the pitch but when it was proper competitive on the green bit, like. Proper blood and thunder stuff. Players got stuck in, got physical and winning personal battles both on and off the ball was all part of the game. When men were men and sheep were afraid...and they probably know all about that in Cumbria. I'm not asking for full on brawls every ten minutes but for fucks sake can we please get a spine and a pair of knackers back into football. Burton bullied us last night Yeah, and if you don't stop crying about getting bullied and grow a pair you'll be getting pushed around by Braintree, Welling and Dartford before you know it. I thought they were tougher than that in Scotland (yes, I know, I know) Another thing (rant will be over soon) I appreciate Beavon was foolish to get sent off last night but the fact that he was standing up for his team mate and showed a bit of fire in his belly in fighting our corner makes me bloody proud to have him in my team. Give me players like him, MacDonald, Sharps, Belly, Weir etc...any day of the week. A bit nasty, a bit of an edge but you'd rather have them in your team than against you. A very "Rowett-esque" type of player. Willing to run through a brick wall for his manager and his team mates. Anyhoo...apologies for the rant and I won't mention violence and thuggery ever again. Violins and buggery, yes...but not violence and thuggery.

Bearing in mind we got bullied at Wimbledon away it's nice to see us do it to someone else
I take it Carlisle haven't played Wimbledon yet?

It has to be controlled and within the laws (or at the edge) but yes, we are not a little team, we are Burton Albion and we are top of the League, strut your stuff guys!
